Freshwater pearls refer to pearls produced in rivers. The main aquaculture areas of freshwater pearls in China are Zhuji, Changde, Suzhou, Jiangxi, Hubei, Anhui and other places, and Hyriopsis cumingii is mostly used to produce freshwater pearls. Freshwater pearls have excellent skin care effect and can whiten and lighten spots.
2. Are freshwater pearls real pearls?
Freshwater pearls are not real pearls. They are mainly cultured pearls, while natural pearls are mainly seawater pearls. As the output is scarce, the price in the market will be relatively high. The difference between freshwater pearls and seawater pearls is that freshwater pearls have no core and are mainly composed of nacre, while natural pearls have a core, which is mainly made by grinding mussel shells, and the surface will be covered with nacre. For this reason, freshwater pearls are the best raw materials for beauty pearl powder.
Third, the characteristics of freshwater pearls
1, freshwater pearls are easy to raise. There is a saying: "As long as you dig a hole in the ground and fill it with water, you can feed freshwater pearls." Freshwater pearls are south of the Yangtze River, so you can feed them as long as there is water! At present, the main producing areas of freshwater pearls have become Hunan and Hubei, which many people did not expect.
2. Freshwater pearls have a fast reproductive cycle and a large number. Pure cultured pearls are very different from the "natural pearls" praised by some sellers. Freshwater pearls are raised in high density and feed, because natural bait can't meet the growth demand of freshwater pearls at all. Freshwater pearls grow very fast, and each mussel can produce 20-30 freshwater pearls, which belong to natural cultured pearls. Because any bait and medicine thrown into the sea is "sinking into the sea", only one pearl is produced in each shell of seawater pearls.
3. The density of freshwater pearls is low, and the density of nacre is much lower than that of seawater pearls. Low density makes the luster fade quickly, which is the biggest disadvantage of freshwater pearls. Freshwater pearls will soon fade when worn close to the body. The wearing time of freshwater pearls is about 1-2 years.
