2. Ghost Festival
According to the theory, due to the lack of scientific knowledge and low productivity, people in the past had a poor ability to withstand natural disasters, and were often disturbed by the winter cold snap, and the scarcity of food was also a cause of fear for these people. With the onset of early spring, the green and yellow harvests were even more life-threatening, with the elderly and children being the first to die from hunger, cold and a variety of other harsh factors.
This caused people to become very alarmed, suspecting that ghosts and spirits were to blame. Once this frightening period was over, people would congratulate each other. This phenomenon gradually evolved into the Spring Festival.
The first day of the first month of the summer calendar was called "the first day of the year", "New Year", "New Year's Day", after the founding of the Republic of China, the introduction of the Gregorian calendar (Western calendar, the New Year's Calendar), set the Western calendar January 1, New Year's Day.
