Kelp contains more iodine.
Marine organisms are high in iodine. Foods with the highest iodine content are seafood, such as kelp, nori, fresh scallops, dried arkshells, dried clams, dried scallops, tamarind, sea cucumbers, jellyfish, lobsters and so on. Kelp has the highest iodine content, reaching more than 240 mg/kg in dried kelp. It is followed by sea shellfish and fresh sea fish (around 800 micrograms/kg).
The benefits of iodine on the human body:
1, to maintain the body's energy metabolism (the decomposition of substances to provide the energy needed for life activities) and thermogenesis (to maintain body temperature). Reduced thyroid hormone synthesis caused by iodine deficiency leads to impaired basic life activities and reduced physical performance, an effect that is lifelong.
2. Promote physical development. Thyroid hormone regulates bone development, sexual development, muscle development and height and weight of children during growth and development. The lack of thyroid hormone can lead to backward physical development, backward sexual development, short body, muscle weakness and other signs and symptoms of backward development.
3. Brain development. In the fetal or infant brain development within a certain period of time must rely on the thyroid hormone, its lack will lead to varying degrees of backwardness of brain development, after birth there will be varying degrees of mental retardation. This disorder is basically irreversible, after the critical period and then supplemental iodine will not help, but iodine supplementation can also ensure normal physical development, correct hypothyroidism, restore physical ability, and indirectly improve intellectual activity.
