Animals that have been extinct and have been resurrected include:
1. Caspian horse. There is always a kind of horse in ancient Persian and Egyptian stone sculptures. They are small but very elegant. This is the Caspian Horse, the favorite of the ancient Persian kings. It disappeared from sight for more than 1,000 years and was considered extinct. In 1965, a Caspian horse was discovered by humans. After DNA testing and the pedigree were determined, the Caspian horse breeding program was launched.
2. Coelacanth, fossils were discovered from the end of the Permian (295 million years ago) to the early Cretaceous (144 million years ago). It has long been thought to have become extinct about 60 million years ago, but in 1938, a living species, the speartail, was caught in a net off the coast of southern Africa.
3. The "scary little lizard" is a species that is only distributed on the island of New Caledonia in the South Pacific. Scientists once believed that the "scary little lizard" had been extinct since the 1990s until 2003. In December 2018, experts from the French Museum of Natural History photographed a live body, and the species returned to the ranks of living species.
4. The Chinese Raila flew from Australia to New Zealand millions of years ago. After settling in New Zealand, the takake gradually grew in size and lost its ability to fly. Scientists once believed that in 1898, the last four wild takahes were killed. In 1948, a team rediscovered the takake near Murchison Mountain.
5. The Cuban shrew, this primitive mammal was discovered by German naturalist Wilhelm Peters in 1861. By the 1970s, many zoologists believed that the Cuban shrew had already extinct. It was not until 1999 that people saw the Cuban shrew again.
