Wild golden cicada has many functions, great market demand and high economic value. Wild golden cicada requires high growth conditions, so it is difficult to popularize it in a large area. Artificial cultivation is needed, but the cultivated flowers can not meet the market demand.
Golden cicada flower (alias: Cordyceps sinensis) is a kind of cicada flower, which is a complex of cicada and flower formed by Paecilomyces cicadae infected with it. It belongs to entomogenous fungi like Cordyceps sinensis. Its roots are the larvae of cicada pupa or mountain cicada, and flowers grow from the heads of single or 2-3 cicada larvae, about an inch long, and blossom and branch from the top. Ascot seats are single or 2-3 in bundles from the front end of the main body.
