I always fail to make hawthorn cake by myself, so what are the correct steps to make hawthorn paste?
Method 1: 1. Wash the hawthorn, remove the roots, core and stems
2. After processing, 500g of hawthorn, 400g of rock sugar, put in a pot (anything except an iron pot will work) Pour in the hawthorns and water, just enough to cover the hawthorns. Pour in the rock sugar and start to simmer. After the fire is turned on, simmer until the hawthorns are soft and rotten, the water in the pot becomes less and the soup becomes thicker. I simmered it for about 20 minutes
3. Pour the thickened hawthorn into the food processor together with the juice. Beat at low speed and then high speed until smooth and sticky, as shown in the picture, then pour it back into the pot. , simmer for less than five minutes, stir it with a shovel, and it will soon erupt like a volcano, and it will be ready.
4. Pour it into a glass vessel for easy demoulding. It’s cold now. Place it in the kitchen window. It will cool down in a while and you can eat deliciously!
Method 2: Step 1
Wash the hawthorn and dry it, remove the stem. Now comes the technical work. Take an empty wine bottle, take a chopstick, put the hawthorn on the mouth of the bottle, and poke the middle from top to bottom. After all the cores have been poked, break the hawthorn in half and use a spoon to remove the cores and impurities that have not been poked cleanly. Make sure there are no cores and ensure the later taste!
Step 2
Take a non-stick pan, add a little water to the pan, put in the processed hawthorn, and add sugar (if you like it sour, you can add less sugar. If you feel sour later, You can add more sugar) and start cooking! Stir and crush at the same time. Some people say that it is better to put it in a food processor and puree it. Personally, I think the crushed taste is better. I have tried both, so I recommend crushing. Don’t be afraid of trouble!
Step 3
Turn on low heat, as shown in the picture, and crush into a paste. After that, keep stirring and pulling until the spoon is picked up and the stuck hawthorn mud will not fall down, then it is ok~
Step 4
Use clean water-free Take it out of the container and let it cool!
Step 5
Seal and refrigerate in a clean, water-free bottle. It can be stored for about a week. Spread on bread or eat directly. The appetizer is ready~
< p>TipsYou must be patient, especially when pressing and boiling hawthorns, slow work will bring out fine work!
