In the history of China for thousands of years, I dare not say that Shandong is the province with the most cultural history in China, but I dare say that it plays a decisive role in the development of China's cultural history. From the ancient Dawenkou culture (Tai 'an area, Shandong Province) to the establishment of Qi State in Zhou Wuwang, which was enfeoffed by Jiang Ziya in the Western Zhou Dynasty, and later, it has witnessed that one side of this cultural holy land has nurtured generations of talents and saints.
Let's start with Jining, a municipality directly under the Central Government. Although it doesn't sound as famous as Jinan in Qingdao, the cultural background is really rich. The hometown of sage Confucius is Qufu, Jining, and the hometown of sage Mencius is Zoucheng, Jining, where I live now. I wonder if you can feel the excitement and pride every time you walk past Mengfu Temple, feel its majesty at any time, or see the tour guide telling his culture and legendary stories to foreign guests.
I am an ordinary college student, but every time I talk about my hometown, I feel that I am no longer ordinary. I have such a proud hometown. If the Confucius Institute has been opened overseas and foreigners are talking about Confucius, then everyone knows that it is free to recite the Analects of Confucius on Mount Tai. Then some children in my hometown have been familiar with the Analects of Confucius since primary school, and they have been able to recite them all in middle school. These graces handed down from my bones are what I am most proud of!
