The death of the little turtle
Last summer, when I was walking downstairs in the community, I saw a turtle exposed to the sun. If I didn't save it, it was estimated that it would die from the sun, so I took it home.

After keeping it in a small washbasin for two days, I found that there was nothing to feed it, and I bought a small water tank and some turtle food on Taobao, as well as many colorful stones and fake aquatic plants. Interestingly, the merchant also gave me a small turtle that is only a quarter of the size of a palm. So two turtles, one big and one small, were kept in captivity by me in a water tank.

I am really a very incompetent host, and I often forget to feed them. I usually feed them once every month or two. Fortunately, these two guys are more hungry, and they are more happy every time they see them. It may also be that the tortoise itself has a small amount of activity and basically does not consume much energy.

The days passed day by day. Every time I came back, I heard the sound of them stepping on stones or climbing the water tank, and I saw the harmonious picture of the little ones lying on the big ones' backs, which made me feel very comfortable and made the rented house more angry.

But just two days ago, I found the little turtle crouched on the stone and motionless, so I pulled it twice, but it still didn't move much. I tried to change the water and feed some food into it, and it began to react, slowly spreading its limbs and floating on the water ...

The next day, I found it as if it were dead and motionless ...

On the third day, it was really dead, because the body had decomposed and the hard shell became a soft skin.

This reminds me of a cruel thing I did in primary school.

I found a dead turtle on my way to school that day, so I hid it in the grass and took it back to our "territory" with another little friend after school. Cut off its meat with a knife, because we wanted to get the shell, and we thought it was beautiful at that time. But we were busy for a long time, and the meat on the shell was still not completely removed, so we buried it. After a week, I went to see it again and found that the shell had turned into a soft skin, and there were still many maggots pecking at its meat, which was really disgusting.

Now that I think about it, it was really cruel at that time. How could I do it?

For this little turtle that just died, I carefully fished it out and washed it into the toilet, which is also a "water burial".

Just now I came back to see that lonely chinemys reevesii, and suddenly I felt a little sad. Just write something to mourn the dead little turtle. I think it may be starved to death because the turtle food is too big to swallow. In the final analysis, it is still my poor care.

I think of the documentary "The Planet with Hot Water" that I saw before. The turtles in it need to avoid threats from various natural enemies from being born on the shore to returning to the sea, and the survival rate is less than 20% ... So it is not easy for those turtles who have lived for many years.

So it is with humans. A sperm has to fight its way out of hundreds of millions of companions before it can be combined with an egg to form a fertilized egg. Today, I can become what I am now, and it is indeed a fortunate thing.

Therefore, as long as you are alive, you should be grateful. In retrospect, other trivial things are not worth mentioning.

The rest of this turtle, I promise I will treat you well ~
