The specifications of round steel are expressed in diameter, such as round steel φ 20 mm.
The specification of square steel is expressed by "side length × side length", such as square steel 20 mm× 20 mm.
The specification of flat steel is expressed as "side width× side thickness", for example, flat steel is 20mm× 10mm.
The specifications of I-beam and channel steel are expressed as "height× leg width× waist thickness", such as I-beam 100mm×55mm×405mm,
Channel steel 200mm×75mm×9mm.
The specification of equilateral angle steel is expressed as "side width × side width × side thickness";
The specification of unequal angle steel is expressed as "long side width× short side width× side thickness", such as 80mm×50mm×6mm.
Second, the steel plate
Steel plates are usually divided into thin plates (thickness ≤4mm), thick plates (thickness > 4 mm) and steel belts. Thick plates are hot rolled, and thin plates are hot rolled and cold rolled. Thin sheets can be processed by hot dip galvanizing and tin electroplating, and made into galvanized sheet steel (commonly known as tin sheet) and tinned sheet steel (commonly known as tinplate). Steel strip is a steel plate with thin thickness, narrow width and long length, and it is also divided into hot rolling and cold rolling.
Third, the steel pipe
Steel pipes are divided into seamless steel pipes and welded steel pipes, and the cross sections are mostly circular. The specification of seamless steel pipe is expressed as "outside diameter× wall thickness× length". If there is no length requirement, just write "outside diameter× wall thickness".
Fourth, steel wire
There are many kinds of steel wires, and their specifications are expressed in diameter.
