The root of Imperata Cylindrica is the rhizome of the perennial herb Imperata Cylindrica of the grass family. The rhizome of Imperata cylindrica is densely scaly. The culms are tufted, erect, with 2 to 3 nodes, and the nodes are pilose 4 to 10 mm long. Harvested in spring and fall. Dry in the sun. Remove fibrous roots and membranous leaf sheaths, cut into pieces for raw use or stir-fry for charcoal. It is also called thatched root, ground pipe, ru root, blue root, etc.. Indications: Cooling blood to stop bleeding, clearing heat and removing toxins. It is used for vomiting blood, urinating blood, feverish gonorrhea, edema, jaundice, dysuria, fever and thirst, gastric fever, vomiting and retching, cough and other symptoms.
