Ginseng fruit is panicum miliaceum, belonging to Solanaceae, native to the northern foot of the Andes in South America. The height of ginseng fruit plant is about 1 m, and its branches are stout and easy to shape, and each plant can bear 5~20 fruits.
The flower statue is small, light green and triangular. Corolla 5-lobed, blue-purple, and white. Stamens 5, alternate with lobes, anthers 2-loculed, dehiscent; Pistil 1, ovary consists of two carpels, which are divided into many chambers by false diaphragm, with many embryo plants and axial placentation.
The fruit is oval, the background color is white when it is ripe, and the purple pattern is gentle, and it will not fall off after hanging on the branches for 5~6 months. It can be used as a fruit-bearing bonsai with ornamental value.

Ecological habit
Ginseng fruit is a subtropical fruit, which is not strict with soil, but grows well in sandy soil with more humus.
I like warm and dry climate, and the suitable growth temperature is 18 ~ 25℃. If the temperature is lower than 0℃, the seedlings will be frozen, especially in the cold winter in northern China. It is necessary to move the seedlings indoors for the winter in time.
It can blossom and bear fruit all year round, from flowering to young fruit appearing for about 7 days, and from young fruit appearing to fruit ripening for 50~70 days.
