Material preparation
The materials for making strawberry jam are very simple. You only need to prepare the following items:
500 grams of fresh strawberries
White 200 grams of sugar
1 tablespoon of lemon juice
Step 1: Wash the strawberries
First, put the fresh strawberries into clean water, scrub them gently and remove the surface of dirt and impurities. Then rinse with clean water, drain and set aside.
Step 2: Cut strawberries
Remove the stems from the washed strawberries and cut them into small pieces. If you prefer a creamier sauce, mince the strawberries.
Step 3: Boil the strawberries
Put the cut strawberries into a large pot, add sugar and lemon juice. Bring to a boil over medium-low heat, then reduce to low and simmer.
While cooking, stir the strawberries constantly to prevent them from sticking to the pan. At the same time, you can also use a spoon to crush some strawberry chunks to make the sauce thicker.
The time for cooking strawberries is usually about 30-40 minutes, until the strawberries are completely cooked and the sauce becomes thick, then turn off the heat.
Step 4: Bottle and store
Pour the cooked strawberry jam into a clean glass bottle. After it is completely cooled, close the bottle cap tightly. Then store the strawberry jam in the refrigerator.
Step 5: Enjoy strawberry jam
Strawberry jam can be used with various foods, such as bread, cakes, ice cream, etc. You can also spread strawberry jam on toast to make a delicious strawberry-filled sandwich.
Whether it’s breakfast, afternoon tea or dessert time, strawberry jam is a delicious choice.
