Turtles are omnivores. Animals mainly feed on insects, worms, small fish, shrimp, snails and mussels. And plants mainly feed on young leaves, duckweed, melon skin, wheat grains, rice and weed seeds. They are very hungry and will not die if they don't eat for months.
Second, how to raise turtles?
1, feeding container
You can choose a flat-bottomed container, such as a plastic basin or a glass jar, and put a proper amount of water, which is generally slightly higher than the turtle's back. Put a back terrace in the middle of the water, which can be made of stone or resin.
2. Feeding environment
(1) temperature
The water temperature that young turtles can adapt to is about 23-28 degrees Celsius. When it is cold, the air above the container should also be heated. Adding a cover lamp to the breeding box can kill two birds with one stone.
(2) Lighting
For young turtles, direct exposure to the sun is particularly important. They can put the feeding box on the balcony or windowsill. If this is not possible, they should be exposed to ultraviolet rays once or twice a week for about three to five minutes each time. The ultraviolet lamp should not be too close to the young turtle, so as not to be damaged by strong light. It is best to irradiate with sunlight, but be careful not to filter out the required ultraviolet rays from the container glass.
Step 4: Feed.
(1) young turtle
It is mainly fed with complete compound feed, with protein content of 47%, comprehensive nutrition such as amino acids, and feed coefficient below 1.6. Because defatted fish meal is often used in compound feed production, we should pay attention to adding 3% ~ 5% corn oil, supplementing trace elements and vitamins, as well as health care agents and disease prevention drugs.
(2) Adult sea turtles
The internal organs of poultry, pigs and other animals, maggots and breadworms are the main components. Properly mix fruits, vegetables and mixed feed to enhance nutrition in the body. Vitamin E powder and antibiotics are added in spring and autumn to increase the amount of eggs conceived by turtles and enhance their physique. Daily feeding should be regular, fixed and qualitative.
