Babao, also known as Laba porridge, Buddha porridge, is a traditional festival food in China. It is a kind of porridge cooked with various ingredients in Laba Festival. It contains more than eight kinds of materials, including mung beans, red beans, lentils, white lentils, red dates, peach kernels, peanuts, lotus seeds, longan, pine nuts, yam, lily, medlar, gordon euryales, coix seed and so on. The original meaning of "eight-treasure porridge" refers to porridge made from eight different raw materials. But today, many "eight-treasure porridge" materials have exceeded eight kinds.
