Female subject consciousness specifically means that women are able to consciously realize and fulfill their historical mission, social responsibility and life obligations, but also aware of their own characteristics, and participate in the social life in a unique way, to affirm and realize their own social value and life needs. The female subjective consciousness unites "man" and "woman" and embodies the pursuit of values that encompass both gender and transcend gender.
The content of women's subjective consciousness is constantly changing and enriching with the historical development and changes in the social environment. During the transition period of contemporary society, women's subjective consciousness is more self-conscious and richer in connotation than in any previous period. It is mainly manifested in the consciousness of rights; independence and autonomy; sustainable development; and sexuality.1 In addition, contemporary women's consciousness of self-protection, health care, and responsibility for the women's liberation movement has been further enhanced.
2. Measurement of the degree of awakening and development of women's subjective consciousness
The establishment and development of women's subjective consciousness is an ever-changing and enriching process, and the measurement of the state of women's subjective consciousness has yet to be studied. Some scholars have suggested that the awakening and perfection of female subject consciousness is mainly manifested in four aspects: recognizing oneself as the subject of society with human ****ness and consciously constructing one's own life in accordance with the comprehensive needs of human beings; recognizing women's own qualities and shaping the real femininity in harmony with one's own physiology and psychology; being able to recognize and consciously undertake to balance the various roles of women; and being able to correctly recognize and develop harmoniously with men. They should be able to correctly evaluate the relationship between the two sexes and insist on "equality between men and women" rather than "male superiority and female inferiority", "male strength and female weakness" or "female supremacy"; The pursuit of self-worth as "human beings", such as achievement, competition, development, sexual fulfillment, etc.; the awakening of women's group consciousness, i.e., women should move from individual self-esteem, self-confidence and self-reliance, and ultimately to self-improvement and self-reliance of the women's group.
Analysis of the degree of awakening and development of the subjective consciousness of the current intellectual women's group
According to the data of China's sample survey on women's social status as well as the data of various local surveys, the subjective consciousness of the contemporary Chinese intellectual women as a whole is still in the period of awakening and growth.
1. Intellectual women whose subjective consciousness is in a relatively mature stage - self-recognition and self-balance
This group of intellectual women is able to recognize their own characteristics and social position as women, and pursue their independent development as "human beings". They have successfully assumed the roles of mothers and wives while working hard in politics, academia and shopping malls. Their mature subjective consciousness enables them to establish a balanced psychological quality, so that they can objectively, calmly and rationally deal with the conflict and confusion of their dual roles, let go of the loads that the real society and cultural traditions have brought to their hearts and minds, and are full of women's calmness and serenity, responsibility and love, as well as dashing self-confidence.
2. Intellectual women whose subjective consciousness is in the period of awakening and growth - self-contradiction
This group's pursuit of independence of self-personality contradicts the experience of the subjective consciousness, thus questioning the life consciousness of pursuing an independent personality, and they have strong self-esteem internally and fight against the pressure externally, and they pursue their independent personalities amid the intertwining of traditional and modern consciousness. They have strong self-esteem internally, fight against pressure externally, and inquire about the meaning of their lives in the interweaving of traditional and modern consciousness. When they are not recognized by society, their minds are in a state of contradiction. According to the author's research, most contemporary female college students are in this state. They have a strong desire to realize their self-worth, but they are unable to find a balance between the intertwined and conflicting concepts of tradition and reality, so they can only compromise and agree with the traditional concepts in both uncertainty and shouting. The so-called female consciousness means that literary works take human liberation as the core, and fight for women's independent status as the symbol, and display obvious gender characteristics and writing gestures in their creation. Writing is the expression of true human experience, but women's writing is in an extremely awkward situation from the very beginning. In order to make the purity of women's writing emerge, the first thing a female writer must do is to reject history and culture. It is only by rejecting culture, by the strategy of suspending everything that exists, that women writers are able to extract themselves from the omnipresent field of experience of male culture. They have no choice but to return to "a room of their own," to look at themselves, and to pay more attention to their own feelings.
