Dipsacus aspergillus is also known as Dipsacus aspergillus, Dipsacus aspergillus and Radix Raphani. It belongs to the genus Dipsacaceae. Taking root as medicine, the name of traditional Chinese medicine dipsacus. The root contains dracocene, volatile oil and triterpenoid saponins. It is mild in nature, bitter, pungent and sweet in taste, and has the effects of nourishing liver and kidney, continuing bones and muscles, and promoting blood circulation. It is mainly used for treating lumbago and back pain, weakness of feet and knees, nocturnal emission, metrorrhagia, restless fetal movement, carbuncle and ulcer, and broken bones and muscles.
Dipsacus asperoides (D.japonicus:Miq.) is also used as traditional Chinese medicine. Dipsacus asperoides is mainly produced in Hubei, Sichuan, Guizhou, Yunnan and Hunan.
