How to tie the rope for triangular zongzi?
The steps are as follows:
1. Take two leaves of Zongzi, rub them in water, so that the tips of the two leaves face outwards, and lay them flat in your hands.
2. Hold both ends of the leaves with both hands, and at the same time, cross and overlap inward and fold into a funnel shape. Then rotate the inner leaves in the funnel by 1 turn, and then return to the original position, so that the funnel becomes conical.
3. First insert L chopsticks into the funnel, then fill in a proper amount of glutinous rice, then poke it down a few times with chopsticks, and compact the glutinous rice at the tip of the cone without leaving a gap.
4. Next, fold the two extra zongzi leaves at the top forward to cover the sticky rice above, then pinch the middle zongzi leaves tightly, and then fold them to one side and press them.
5. Wrap the string around the two corners of the zongzi several times, wrap the zongzi tightly and tie the top tightly. (This step is very important. If the rope is not tied firmly enough, the leaves of zongzi may come loose during cooking, and all previous efforts are in vain. )
The origin of triangular zongzi
Triangle Zongzi, the traditional name of the Han nationality, is a dietary custom of the Dragon Boat Festival. Since Pudong came into being, people have had the custom of making triangular zongzi, which has a history of 1000 years. Legend has it that people in Pudong found that pillow-shaped zongzi was easily pecked open by fish in the river during activities to commemorate Qu Yuan, so they invented triangular zongzi. It's too painful to steal zongzi because the fish's mouth touched the corner. Triangle zongzi has been passed down to this day and is called Pudong local zongzi. The tourists listened with relish.
The Legend of Triangle Zongzi II
According to legend, Fan Xiliang, Meng Jiangnv's husband, was taken to build the Great Wall and has not been heard from for three years. Meng Jiangnv is also a woman who values affection and righteousness. She misses her husband day and night, looking through the autumn waters, but no one returns. After enduring all the helpless hardships, she settled in her in-laws and resolutely embarked on a long journey of finding a husband thousands of miles away. Before leaving, he was afraid that his husband would starve to death and racked his brains to bring delicious food to his beloved husband to express his mind. After much deliberation, I decided to wrap zongzi for him. The clever Meng Jiangnv thinks that the northern border is cold and the zongzi wrapped in glutinous rice will not be cracked by the wind. There are also three dates in each zongzi, which means three years apart, or red beans represent acacia. The shape of zongzi is wrapped in imitation of her own feet. She wants to tell her husband how difficult it is for her wife to travel all the way. From then on, whenever people eat zongzi on the Dragon Boat Festival, they will think of the touching story of Meng Jiangnv who traveled thousands of miles to find her husband. In an infinite sense, the dumplings wrapped by people naturally become triangles.
