Tempura is a Japanese dish.
Sweet and Spicy Tempura (Tempura originally means tempura in Japanese cuisine) is a kind of fishcake (fish plate), and some places in the south of Japan call the fish plate Tenpura, so the word "Sweet and Spicy" came from Japan. In China, Tenpura (天妇罗) is transliterated into Sweet and Spicy. But it is different from tempura.
Tenpura in Japanese food means: fish, shrimp and vegetables coated with batter and fried in a frying pan to a golden color, which is called tempura, while in China it is called sweet and spicy, is some ingredients (meat, seafood, fish, etc.) made into a paste and mixed with flour molded food, fried through the dipping of Thai-style sweet and spicy sauce to eat. Usually the texture is similar to that of a gungwan with flour. Not tempura.
Origin of the food:
This is not the same thing as the Japanese word tempura, although it is transliterated from the Japanese word tempura.
Tempura is made by pulping fish or shrimp, adding starch, meat, seafood, and other ingredients, forming long strips, and then deep-frying them in a deep-fat fryer to make "tempura" (there are some unscrupulous merchants who mix poor-quality shrimp powder into the starch and deep-fry it to make tempura). Most people think that sweet and spicy was invented by the Japanese, but in fact it was the Portuguese who first invented it and then brought it to Japan with the missionaries.
The sweet chili you see in supermarkets comes in long strips, round shapes, flat shapes, and so on. It is usually found in dishes such as Kanto, spicy hot pot, and hot pot. It can also be deep fried and dipped in Thai sweet chili sauce. In home cooking, it can be stir-fried with pieces of celery, cauliflower, broccoli, lettuce, etc. It is an easy and practical home cooking dish.
Chinese sweet chili is mostly used in Guandong cooking and hot pot. Sweet and Spicy is sweet and salty, with a fresh and fragrant flavor and spray.
