Deng Yuantai Town is a town under the jurisdiction of Wugang City. In 1951, it belonged to the second district. In 1958, the Rocket Commune was established. In 1961, it was divided into Zhuanwan, Qingxi and Shan Lan Communes. After many adjustments, in 1969, it was Zhuanwan, Qingxi and Chengxi Commune. Due to the same name, Qingxi Commune was renamed Jiangtang Commune in 1981, and changed its hometown in June of 1984. In February of the same year, Dengyuantai Town was built in Zhuanwan Township, and Jiangtang Township and Chengxi Township were merged in April of 1995. Located in the southwest of the city, 13km away from the urban area, with an area of 141.7km2 and a population of 63,111, the town government is stationed in Dengyuantai. Zhu (city) city (step) highway runs through the whole territory. Jurisdiction over Deng Yuantai Neighborhood Committee and Hsinchu, Qingxi, Shishantou, Shankou, Lundao, Jiangtang, Xuefeng, Duck Pond, Zhongshan, Bantang, Zhenyuan, Huang Mao, Mazi, Longjiaqiao, Taojiapang, Caijiatang, Chitang, Dutou Bridge, Stepping, Moshi, Fengxi, Shan Lan, Tianxin Bridge and Panjiasuo. Weixi Reservoir and Weixi Power Station are in the territory. Township enterprises include agricultural machinery repair plants, power stations, firecrackers factories, construction companies, tea farms, citrus farms and so on. Agriculture mainly produces rice, rape and wheat.
