There is a big gap between catering management and hotel management. Catering management is only a limited single management, while hotel management involves more management convenience, such as catering, rooms, SAP, meetings, motorcades, gardens, recreation and so on. It's ok to change careers, but I suggest you start with the hotel's catering department and get to know the operation mode of the whole hotel first.
