Types of credit cards
By issuer, they can be categorized into bank cards and non-bank cards
Bank card. This is a credit card issued by a bank that allows the cardholder to make purchases at authorized stores of the issuing bank and withdraw cash at any time at any branch or ATM owned by the issuing bank.
Non-Bank Card. This card can be specifically categorized into retail credit cards and travel and entertainment cards. Retail credit cards are credit cards issued by commercial organizations such as department stores, oil companies, etc., for purchasing goods at designated stores or gas stations, etc., and for regular billing. Travel and entertainment cards are credit cards issued by service companies such as airlines and travel companies for airfare, meals, lodging, entertainment and other services.
Based on the different objects of issuance, it can be categorized into company card and personal card
Company card. The company card is issued to all kinds of industrial and commercial enterprises, scientific research and educational institutions, state party and government organs, troops, groups and other legal persons.
Personal card. Personal cards are issued to individual urban and rural residents, including employees, cadres, teachers, science and technology workers, self-employed and other urban and rural adult residents with stable sources of income. Personal cards are issued in the name of the individual who is fully responsible for the use of the card.
The cardholder's credit status, position, and other credit and credit situation is different, can be divided into ordinary card and gold card
An ordinary card. Ordinary card is for economic strength and credit, the status of ordinary cardholders, the various requirements for them are not high.
A gold card. A gold card is a premium credit card with high membership fees and special treatment. The card is issued to people with higher creditworthiness, strong repayment ability, good credit or a certain social status. The gold card has a higher credit limit, a wider range of additional services and scope, and correspondingly higher service fees and security deposit requirements.
Based on the repayment method, credit cards can be divided into debit cards and accurate debit cards
Debit card. Is the card issuing bank to provide bank credit payment, the first overdraft to use, and then repayment or installment, the current international use of most of this card. In other words, the cardholder is allowed to have no deposit in the credit card account, and the clearing method is "first consumption and then deposit". The majority of cards in circulation internationally are of this type.
Quasi-debit cards. It is a credit card issued by a bank for depositing money before spending. When applying for a credit card, the cardholder needs to deposit a certain amount of money as a reserve with the issuing bank in advance. Cardholders are required to use the card on the basis of the deposit balance, and overdrafts are generally not allowed.
Based on the different credit card circulation amount, it can be divided into international card and regional card
International card. An international card is a credit card that can be used outside the country of issuance and used globally. Five overseas groups (MasterCard, VISA International, American Express, JCB and Diners Club) issue Master Card, VISA Card, American Express Card, JCB Card and Diners Club cards which are mainly international cards.
Regional Cards. Regional cards are credit cards that can only be used in the issuing country or a specific region. Most of the credit cards issued by commercial banks in China are regional cards.
