Polypropylene is widely used in the production of clothing, blankets and other fiber products, medical equipment, automobiles, bicycles, parts, transportation pipelines, chemical containers and so on. It is also used for the packaging of food and medicine.
Products for injection in Europe and America account for 50% of the total consumption, which are mainly used as parts of automobiles and electrical appliances, various containers, furniture, packaging materials and medical devices. Film accounts for 8% ~ 15%, and polypropylene (commonly known as polypropylene in China) accounts for 8% ~ 10%.
Construction pipes and plates account for 10% ~ 15%, and others account for 10% ~ 12%. At present, knitting products in China account for 40% ~ 45%, followed by film and injection molding products, accounting for about 40%; Polypropylene and others account for 10% ~ 20%.
Extended data
China began to study the production technology of polypropylene on 1962. Since 1980s, polypropylene has developed rapidly in China. China has introduced some advanced polypropylene production technologies and equipment, and successively built a number of large and medium-sized polypropylene production plants in Yanshan, Yangzi and Liaoyang, and also built a large number of small bulk polypropylene production plants in various places, which has played a certain role in alleviating the contradiction between supply and demand.
The rapid growth of production scale has promoted the rapid development of polypropylene resin production in China. Since 2000, the number of polypropylene plants in China has increased rapidly, and the production has developed very rapidly. By the end of 20 17, the total polypropylene production capacity in China reached 20.87 million tons/year.
