Historical evolution

In the early days of the People's Republic of China, the whole city was divided into four districts in the shape of "Tian", and the second and third districts were the predecessors of Wenfeng District. On August 5, 1954, the organizational system of the third district was abolished, and seven neighborhood committees, including Nanmendong, under the jurisdiction of the third district were placed under the jurisdiction of the second district. On February 26, 1955, the organizational system of the first and second districts was abolished, and the Anyang Urban Committee was established. The office was located at No.65, south of Cangxiang Street Road. At the end of October 1956, the organizational system of the first and second districts was restored, and the second district was officially changed to Wenfeng District People's Committee. On October 8, 1958, it was renamed the Lighthouse People's Commune. On June 25, 1962, the organizational system of Wenfeng District was restored, and the Wenfeng District Committee and Wenfeng District People's Government were established to govern the old city and the east of the city.
