According to Liberation Daily, KFC entered China in 1987, and by 1995, it had 50 stores, which doubled to 100 a year later. This year, 85 new chain stores were opened in 23 cities across the country, bringing the number of stores to 400. At present, KFC chain stores have spread all over the country 100 cities, reaching Qiqihar and Daqing in the north, Guilin and Haikou in the south, Zhoushan and Weihai in the east, Xi and Chongqing in the west, and KFC is everywhere. Shanghai is KFC's fastest growing city in the world, with 60 chain stores at present. Every Shanghainese goes to KFC four times a year on average, and Shanghai KFC has also set a world record of daily turnover of more than 400,000 yuan for a single store.
The United States gave a negative answer to the question of whether there are too many KFC stores. In their view, China is a vast country with a population of 654.38+0.2 billion, and there are not many 400 stores. The population of the United States is just over 200 million, but KFC has opened more than 5,000 stores. Japanese population is less than one tenth of that of China, but KFC has more than 1000. Therefore, there is great potential to develop KFC chain stores in China. KFC has set up China Healthy Food Advisory Committee to research and develop new food products suitable for the new generation of consumers in China, and further expand the market.
