Fangchenggang is a prefecture-level city under the jurisdiction of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, a city group around Beibu Gulf, a coastal city, a border city and a port city. It is located at the southernmost tip of Chinese mainland coastline, with its back facing southwest, facing Southeast Asia, bordering Beibu Gulf in the south and Viet Nam in the southwest.
With a coastline of 580 kilometers and a land boundary of 100.895 kilometers, it is the only panoramic ecological bay city along the Beibu Gulf. Known as "the gateway to the southwest and the pearl on the border", it is the oxygen capital of China, the hometown of golden camellia in China, the hometown of egrets in China, the hometown of longevity in China and the second largest hometown of overseas Chinese in Guangxi.

Fangchenggang, located in Beibu Gulf, has obvious maritime monsoon climate characteristics.
