First time in Xiaohe Cha Shenxing
Fish and rice come from Fuchu Township, and it's unusual to get full in autumn.
nowadays, the price of rice is on the high side, so it's hard to taste river fish.
Cha Shenxing's poems focus on sympathizing with the sufferings of the people and showing the hardships of farmers' lives, and they are very sincere and touching. The widely rumored Mayang Shipping Line is just one of the representatives. Perhaps because of his long-term growth in the countryside, he has a natural connection with farmers. This quatrain is also a masterpiece in this respect.
in the eighteenth year of Kangxi, the poet went to Guizhou with Yang Yongjian, a fellow countryman and a new governor. The group set out in summer and entered Hubei in autumn. At that time, there was no rain for a long time and there was a drought. The poet wrote in the poem "What I saw in the Middle Ages of Hanzhou Road": "The sand bank is a hundred feet high, and the water falls on the bank. The fire clouds have been steaming for a long time, and the rising sun is autumn. " In the poem "Crossing Baili Lake", he said: "The autumn drought has been occupied by the age of 21, and the people still hope for rain cream. If the scales are alive, how dare I fear the waves? " He showed great concern about the drought in Chu. We chose "First Entering the River" at this time. The river in the poem is a tributary of the lower reaches of Hanshui River, which is located in the west of mian yang. The poet started by praising the richness of Chu land. "Fish and rice come from the rich Chu country, and it is only common to be full in autumn." Chu land is known as the land of fish and rice, with rivers flowing freely and fertile land, and there is no threat of famine at all. The word "ordinary" is intended to praise Chu, push this beautification to the realm of exaggeration, and pave the way for the following description of the disaster.
"Nowadays, the price of rice is on the high side, so it's hard to taste the river fish at a low price." The last two sentences grasp the two phenomena of soaring rice prices and the sale of river fish at a low price, highlighting the seriousness of the disaster. One rise and one fall is the performance of poor grain harvest and farmers' lack of food and clothing. Because they are eager to change food, fishermen can only sell delicious fish at low prices. This is in sharp contrast to the above praise, resulting in a contrasting effect. As a passer-by, the poet had a chance to enjoy the beauty of fresh fish, but he couldn't bear to taste the live fish he bought. Because this cheap fish was sold by the fisherman at a painful price, it was tantamount to the fisherman's own heart. The word "I can't bear to taste" tells the whole story of the poet's sympathy for the peasants and anxiety about the disaster. Cha Shenxing not only objectively reproduces the disaster, but also puts himself into it and deeply experiences the pain brought by this disaster, which makes his works have great shocking power. Coincidentally, he also expressed a similar feeling in another song "Qin Youdao is the eye": "Buying river fish at a low price is still a waste, and there is no soul in it." It can be seen that the poet would never have written such a moving poem without the feelings naturally connected with the peasants. The deep and painful feelings are the reasons why this poem is really powerful.
The real poets in history are always closely connected with the people. Only a poet who devotes himself can have immortal poems, and Cha Shenxing is such a poet.
