According to the official website of the People's Government of Jiangsu Province, the gross domestic product (GDP) of Wuxi in the first quarter of 2022 amounted to 323.697 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 3.8%. Among them: the added value of primary industry was 1.893 billion yuan, down 7.1 percent year-on-year; the added value of secondary industry was 150.233 billion yuan, up 4.8 percent year-on-year; and the added value of tertiary industry was 171.571 billion yuan, up 3.1 percent year-on-year.

In the first quarter, Wuxi's above-scale industrial enterprises realized an added value of 120.668 billion yuan, an increase of 4.4% year-on-year. In terms of economic types, from January to March, the added value of state-controlled enterprises decreased by 3.0% year-on-year; foreign, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan-funded enterprises increased by 3.4%; and private enterprises increased by 6.4%.
