Lishui District is located in the south of Nanjing, which is an important national film and television base and agricultural science and technology base, an important transportation hub and logistics center in East China, a manufacturing base and a modern industrial agglomeration area in the Yangtze River Delta region, as well as an important sub-city of Nanjing.
Lishui District is the birthplace of the 100-mile Qinhuai River, characterized by water town charm, rural scenery and mountainous terrain, with 450,000 acres of forested land, 255,000 acres of water surface, 460,000 acres of arable land, forest coverage of 30.5%, air quality up to the national second-class standard, Dongping Lake, Zhongshan Lake and other water quality up to the national second-class standard, known as the "natural oxygen bar".
Lishui District is located in the Yangtze River Delta Economic Zone, is the southern gate of Nanjing, an important transportation hub in East China, and the developed transportation makes it the most valuable investment area in the Yangtze River Delta.

In 2012, Lishui District completed a GDP of 36.06 billion yuan, an increase of 14.5% year-on-year; total fiscal revenue of 4.62 billion yuan, an increase of 17.8% year-on-year; public *** budget revenue of 3.0 billion yuan, an increase of 20% year-on-year, with tax revenue accounting for 80% of total tax revenue, an increase of 8.5% compared with that of the previous year; completed a total investment of 35.0 billion yuan in social fixed assets, an increase of 27.6%; realize total retail sales of consumer goods 9.9 billion yuan, an increase of 16%.
