According to public reports, this batch of problematic food was produced on September 4 and distributed to the kindergartens involved in the incident on the morning of September 5, and did not flow into other channels. The exact cause of the incident has yet to be determined by the relevant test reports. At present, Jili cake store has been seized, four related responsible persons have been controlled by the police.

Industrial and commercial information shows that Honggutan New District Jili cake store was registered on November 2, 2016 in Nanchang Honggutan New District Market and Quality Supervision Administration. Gao, a former employee of the cake store, told the Daily People that the cake store was opened by his friend, who claimed to have lost his ID card at the end of last year and offered to use his name for registration. Gao said he had quarreled with his friend over personal matters and had long since lost contact, "He used to make cakes all the time.
