The excessive COD is based on the excessive content of these organic substances, which can be dealt with by the following methods:
(1) Physical method: the suspended matter or turbid matter in wastewater can be separated by physical action, and the COD in wastewater can be removed. Common methods include grating, sieving, centrifugation, clarification, filtration and oil separation.
(2) chemical method: chemical reaction is used to remove dissolved substances or colloidal substances in wastewater, which can remove COD in wastewater. Common methods include neutralization, precipitation, redox, catalytic oxidation, photocatalytic oxidation, micro-electrolysis, electrolytic flocculation, incineration and so on.
(3) Physico-chemical method: physical and chemical action is used to remove dissolved or colloidal substances in wastewater. COD in wastewater can be removed. Common methods include grating, sieving, centrifugation, clarification, filtration and oil separation.
(4) biological treatment: it is to use microbial metabolism to transform organic pollutants and inorganic microbial nutrients in wastewater into stable and harmless substances. The common methods are activated sludge method, biofilm method, anaerobic biological digestion method, stabilization pond and wetland treatment.
Note:
If the COD still exceeds the standard after the above treatment, look down
