5. Introduction to Longmen Mountain Scenic Area
"Ruins Earthquake Park includes the widely circulated Xiaoyudong Broken Bridge Site and Bailu Central School Site (the most cattle). Xiaoyudong Broken Bridge
Xiaoyudong Bridge is a steel arch bridge with a total length of 187m and a width of 12m in Xiaoyudong Town, Pengzhou. In the Wenchuan earthquake, Xiaoyudong Bridge, which just lies on the fault zone, was completely collapsed and was impassable. Now there is a blue sculpture standing at the bridge head on Pengzhou side of Xiaoyudong Bridge. It is 5 meters high, 1.2 meters wide and 1 meters thick, and has a steel frame structure. The white text on the surface of the sculpture has a brief introduction of the Wenchuan earthquake, the damage of Pengzhou and the Xiaoyudong Bridge collapsed in the earthquake.
Bailu Town
Bailu Town Old Street in Pengzhou City is also located in the fault zone of Wenchuan earthquake. During the earthquake, the old street was lifted by the river for a moment. It turned out that a flat street was staggered up and down by more than 3 meters, and a large number of houses were damaged.
In Bailu Central School in Pengzhou City, not far from Laojie, the fault zone just passed between two adjacent teaching buildings during the earthquake, and the one on the back of the mountain was raised by 2 meters, leaving a steep cliff. Fortunately, the two teaching buildings were safe and sound, and nearly a thousand teachers and students were evacuated safely. Bailu Central School was praised by netizens as "the best teaching building in history".
Bailushang Academy was built by French missionaries in 1918 to train Catholic clergy in China. After 1949, attending the academy basically no longer played the role of a religious place. In the Wenchuan earthquake, this century-old relic collapsed completely in just eight seconds, with mountains of rubble and staggered wooden columns. The white stone gate broke into a trapezoid, and only the thick semi-cylindrical gate post remained at the bottom. The plan will be rebuilt at the original site.
Sino-French Bridge is a stone double arch bridge, which was designed and constructed by Yu Xiasong (French) when he was the dean of Bailuxia Academy. The local people named this bridge "Sino-French Bridge". In the 5.12 earthquake, this bridge was seriously damaged, and only a residual bridge with one hole was left, which was impassable.
Yinchanggou
