Species information

Dorsal disc length 360-570?mm, width of dorsal disc only slightly less than the length, nearly round. The carapace is flattened and only slightly elevated, the dorsal surface is smooth and glossy, dark olive-green (or black-green) in color, with most yellow spots, and numerous yellow dots in between, sometimes forming an irregular circle around the aforementioned yellow spots; in the part of the dorsal armor equivalent to the bone, the yellow spots form horizontal and vertical interwoven lines or radial stripes. The dorsal surface of the head, neck and limbs is also blackish green, with irregular yellow spots of various sizes. This dense yellow mottling is a characteristic of the spotted turtle, which lives in rivers and lakes. It lives in rivers, lakes and marshes and is benthic. Feeds on aquatic animals. Oviparous. Endemic to China. Distributed in the lower Yangtze River and around Lake Taihu.

[edit]Endangerment

Existing Spotted Turtle

The Spotted Turtle is a national-level protected animal, which is scarce and extremely valuable, and is more endangered than the Chinese Sturgeon as the "Giant Panda in the Water."" WCS Amphibian and Reptile Species Program Coordinator Lv Shunqing introduced that the spotted turtle is the most endangered species of turtles, and there are only three known surviving spotted turtles in the world, including one at the Suzhou Zoo, one at the Lake of Returning Swords in Vietnam, and one at the Changsha Zoo.1 In April 2008, U.S. scientists found another wild spotted turtle in northern Vietnam. The female turtle from Changsha has now traveled to Suzhou in the hope that they can save the spotted turtle population.

Deaths in recent years

Two at zoos in Beijing and Shanghai, one at Xiyuan Temple in Suzhou died, and another at Xiyuan Temple is supposed to have died as well.

[edit]Habitat

Every year, around the time of the hibernation, the hibernating spotted turtle begins to wake up in the silt at the bottom of the pool. The temperature in spring is still cold, Suzhou Zoo spotted turtle just in the sunshine and warm afternoon surfaced, slowly swimming head swim, then prostrate in the pool of stone island edge, the whole turtle body half submerged in shallow water, a long time to maintain a static posture, like a small island side of the rock. Usually, the head of the turtle is submerged in the water every 2 to 3 minutes to lift up once, in the exhalation at the same time jet contained in the mouth of a small stream of water column, and then open the mouth to lift the nose for inhalation, 10 to 15 seconds after the sinking head of the water, so that the respiratory action of the week again and again and again, the cycle is not endless.

The zoo feeds the turtles every other day at regular intervals. Usually, the keepers knock on the water surface with their hands or wooden boards at 2:00 p.m. beside the food table, and under the vibration of the water waves, the skinny and tired turtles will start to move their heavy bodies, leave the island and swim to the food table to take the food. The feeding volume of the spotted turtle is related to the season and temperature. In summer, when the temperature is high, the metabolism of the spotted turtle is vigorous, and the feeding volume is much more, and the turtle can devour 1~1.5 kilograms of chicken (dried meat) per meal, but the feeding of miscellaneous fish is not obvious. After eating, the turtle often roams around the pool and seems to be more leisurely. At this time, you can see the turtle's back, skirt, straight out of the tail, light paddling limbs, long neck and bright eyes. Such swimming sometimes lasted for about 1 hour. The turtle's skirt, although clearly visible, was not plump, apparently related to the poor water quality, unsatisfactory nutritional conditions and poor health of the living environment. Park visitors often throw various kinds of food to the spotted turtle, and it is happy to accommodate them. On hot or cool days, the spotted turtle's response to food throwing was relatively cold. Even when it came to the food platform, it looked sluggish, depressed, and had no appetite, and generally swam around the food platform for two or three round trips before sinking to the bottom or returning to the island for a rest. Therefore, it is not uncommon for spotted turtles to refuse to eat for several days or a week.

The release pond at Xiyuan Temple in Suzhou has a wide area, clean water, and maintains an annular flow all year round. There are two spotted turtles in the pool, and their physique and mobility are stronger than those kept in Suzhou Zoo. They often intermittently swim out of the water, swimming in pairs, but due to the lack of small islands in the pool, only occasionally resting in the pool side of the rockery, slightly disturbed, and then abandoned the shore hidden underwater.

[Edit Paragraph]Determination of Spotted Softshell Turtle

According to the legend, there were two large pools surrounded by stone fences in front of the Yamen of Hangzhou Clan Division in the Qing Dynasty, which hid the water gate of the Clan Treasury. The big soft-shelled turtle that guarded the water gate was in the pool, and Hangzhou people called it the "crazy soft-shelled turtle". These legends are more difficult to verify, but the "Clan before the soft-shelled turtle", is a scene in the city of Hangzhou, has not changed for decades. Cao Xueqin, who lived in Nanjing, mentioned the turtle in Dream of the Red Chamber. In the twenty-third episode of "The West Wing", Jia Baoyu said, "Tomorrow I will fall in the pool and teach a mangy soft-shelled turtle to swallow it and turn into a big king, and when you become a 'first-class lady' and die of old age, you will carry a monument for your whole life on your grave. "

This is the first time I've ever seen a book like this one. I advise you not to throw incense bait to see the soft-shelled turtle swimming freely.

But it wasn't until more than 100 years ago that the spotted turtle was slowly recognized by humans.

In 1873, the British scholar John Gray identified several large soft-shelled turtles captured near Shanghai by a British consul in Shanghai as a new species, naming them Osaria swinhoei; in addition to obtaining a museum specimen, after more than a decade of searching, no wild populations of the spotted turtle were found. Later, Meilan changed the name from Osaria?swinhoei to Rafetus?swinhoei, and in 1880, Heude, a Frenchman, identified the giant softshell turtle caught in the Huangpu River as a new species of Yuen?maculatus, and wrote an article pointing out that the new species was very different from the giant softshell turtle. However, since it had been called a soft-shelled turtle at the time, he called it a spotted soft-shelled turtle. According to the research, the soft-shelled turtle named by Gray was actually the soft-shelled turtle named by Heude. In 1984, Zhang Minghua, a Chinese scholar, studied the subfossilized skeleton of the soft-shelled turtle unearthed from the Neolithic site of Luojiajiao, Tongxiang County, Zhejiang Province, and named it the soft-shelled turtle of Taihu Lake.

In fact, the Taihu softshell turtle is the spotted turtle, because he did not refer to the literature of British and French scholars at that time.? The previously mentioned mangy soft-shelled turtle, big soft-shelled turtle, Strelitz's soft-shelled turtle, spotted soft-shelled turtle, and Taihu soft-shelled turtle are all spotted soft-shelled turtles. In the long years that followed, there were almost no follow-up reports by scholars in China, and they did not even know whether it was a valid species, its geographical distribution and habits, and thus the classification of softshell turtles in China had once presented a confusing situation - it was regarded as a homonym of the Chinese softshell turtle, and although many individuals were found, they were all identified as softshell turtles The Chinese soft-shelled turtle is considered to be a synonym of the Chinese soft-shelled turtle, and although many individuals have been found, they have been identified as soft-shelled turtles, spotted soft-shelled turtles, and other species; and specimens of spotted soft-shelled turtles in all zoos and museums in China have been wrongly identified as soft-shelled turtles.

Chen Daqing, director of the Suzhou Zoo, introduced the Suzhou Zoo, the spotted turtle before liberation here, "Suzhou Zoo is an old funeral home before the construction of the park, commonly known as the 'Changshan Bureau', specifically for the rich to store the body coffins. The original Changshan bureau has a garden, dry boat, rockery, pavilions and ponds, etc., the residents of the southern Jiangsu region have been buying turtles, turtles, fish, etc., in the temple pond in the traditional custom of release, the existing spotted turtle is in the pre-liberation of the release of the." ?

"When the park was built in 1954, there were more than ten spotted turtles of different sizes, but unfortunately, it was treated as another species, soft-shelled turtle, and no good protective measures were taken for it, and only one has survived so far." In 1993, when Chen Daqing first started working at the Suzhou Zoo, this was the only spotted turtle left. "It was missing a piece of its skirt, which had been bitten off in a previous fight with other spotted turtles." ?

One of the reasons for the decline in the spotted turtle's population is that people think of it as a soft-shelled turtle and don't pay attention to it. It was in the 1990s that the spotted turtle was given a proper name.?

The Suzhou Zoo, in support of the construction of the biology department of the Suzhou Institute of Science and Technology (SIST), presented two specimens of the large soft-shelled turtle, commonly known as the "mangy soft-shelled turtle". Zhao Kentang, a professor of biology at the Suzhou Institute of Science and Technology, conducted a detailed study of its skull, back, abdominal armor, etc., and found that the two "mangy soft-shelled turtles" are spotted turtles. After years of research, Zhao Kendang put forward a large number of evidence to prove that the spotted turtle is a unique species, he is China's first person for the spotted turtle name. 1992, Zhao Kendang, running around, for the rescue of the spotted turtle exhausting efforts, his appeal has caused a reaction, the people of Suzhou from now on the spotted turtle as a national treasure. However, unfortunately, Zhao Kentang died in early 2007 due to illness.

"In fact, in 1873, this species has been identified, but then experts are not recognized. When I was small, I took it as the Chinese soft-shelled turtle, and when I was big, I took it as the soft-shelled turtle. It was in the 1990s that Zhao Kentang's research found that the species did exist." Lu Shunqing said.

Because it was thought to be another species, human beings did not pay enough attention to it, and the tragedy of the spotted turtle continued to occur.

In October 2005, a female spotted turtle in the Beijing Zoo passed away, only one year after it was renamed from "soft-shelled turtle" to "spotted turtle".

On December 16, 2006, a female spotted turtle at the Shanghai Zoo passed away. On December 16, 2006, in the Amphibian Reptile House of the Shanghai Zoo, a spotted turtle was never able to see any of its own kind and ended its life in solitude, surrounded by coins thrown by tourists. At that time, less than three months from the "identification" for it.

Realizing the importance of the spotted turtle, last year the China Zoo Association posted an article on its website describing the characteristics of the spotted turtle so that it could be found in the zoos to which it belongs. Thankfully, it was after this that the female spotted turtle at Changsha Zoo was properly named. "Last year when Dr. Lu from Changsha Zoo was attending a conference on South China Tigers in Suzhou, he said that there was a soft-shelled turtle in Changsha Zoo, and he didn't know if it was a spotted turtle. He sent a photo to Director Chen Daqing, and at the time, he looked at the photo and thought it was a spotted turtle by its markings. Earlier this year, Dr. Gerald Cooklin and I ran to Changsha and saw it up close and found it to be the spotted turtle." Lv Shunqing, Amphibian Reptile Species Program Coordinator at Wildlife Conservation Society International, recalls.?

WCS China program representative Xie Yan said that there are three main bases for judging the spotted turtle: one look at the body length, the dorsal armor length reaches 80 to 110 centimeters or more, but the performance of the existing individuals in the zoo's Insectarium is not optimistic; the second look at the body weight, reaches 100 to 180 kilograms, can be very similar to the young spotted turtle individuals and Chinese turtles, the Shanrui turtle, and so on, and therefore it is difficult to differentiate; the third look at the corpus callosum, the abdomen There are two.

If human beings have not been able to recognize the spotted turtle is an important reason why the number of spotted turtles is difficult to determine, then the fundamental reason for the drastic decline in its numbers is the habitat - Lake Taihu and other places - was polluted and other human interference. Moreover, Chinese people have always been fond of supplementing turtles and tortoises, of which the spotted turtle is a large individual and a prominent target, which makes it easier to be hunted down and killed.

[edit]Spotted turtle's former home: the Taihu Lake basin

"Spotted turtles mainly live in the Taihu Lake basin, but the economy there is more developed and more polluted, and this year the Taihu Lake has had back-to-back cyanobacteria outbreaks, which shows how polluted the water quality is." Lv Shunqing talked about another reason why the spotted turtle is on the verge of extinction, "In our country, the main reason for the rapid decline in the number of animals is that its habitat is decreasing and destroying, and with more of us, there is less space for the animals to survive." ?

"In its natural state, the spotted turtle should be in the middle of an open water and the water quality should not be polluted. It eats live food, including aquatic animals like fish.?" Lv Shunqing said, any animal survival to have three basic conditions, one is that it has to hunt for food, there should be enough food for it to live; another is that it is able to hide itself from the enemy, it has a place to hide; the most important thing is that it has a place to reproduce.

And the current environment around the lower reaches of the Yangtze River and Lake Taihu is difficult for it to survive. In these decades, no spotted turtle has been found in Taihu Lake. "The possibility of the existence of the spotted turtle in Lake Taihu is too slim now. The water quality has changed too much." Lu Shunqing lamented.

"In addition, this species has high habitat requirements, its domain behavior is very strong, put two turtles in a pool, they will certainly fight until they kill each other. They need an exceptionally large range of habitats, both sandy beaches as well as land and water. Habitat pollution and fishing have led to such a survival situation for spotted turtles now." Xie Yan said, "The most important thing is that there are too many people who prey on it! When the turtle is in the wild, as long as someone sees it, it will be taken away and eaten or sold, and the turtle has to come ashore to bask in the sun and lay eggs, so it is easy to be caught." Xie Yan, associate researcher at the Institute of Zoology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and director of the China Program of the International Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS?), said that all wild turtles and tortoises in China are facing such a threat, "This is related to China's poor dietary cultural traditions, and the legend says that eating turtles and tortoises is nourishing and long-lived, so the selling price is also high." ? Xie Yan told reporters that in China, in addition to the spotted turtle there are many more lower species, their situation is also very critical. "A lot of turtles and amphibians, specimens were collected before, but they have not been collected for a long time afterward, and it's hard to say whether they exist in the wild or not, so protective measures should be taken." She believes that China needs to have a national wildlife awareness and education campaign to really reduce people's demand for wildlife, or else wildlife will gradually go extinct, "So many wild animals have gone extinct after hundreds of thousands of years, millions of years, just in this one or two decades. Tortoises are also at least hundreds of thousands of years old, basically the same era as the dinosaurs, is a very old species."

Xiyuan Temple more than 400 years old spotted turtle "pass away"

In 2007, Suzhou Xiyuan Temple two Chinese spotted turtle in a male turtle "Fangfang", after more than 400 years of wind and rain vicissitudes. After more than 400 years, the end of life. With the departure of this spotted turtle, the world's known survivors of the spotted turtle, there are now only three left (Xiyuan Temple, the other whether the existence of another is not ascertained). Previously, there were two other spotted turtles in China, in the Beijing Zoo and the Shanghai Zoo, but they died in 2005 and 2006. The reality that the spotted turtle is even more endangered is a heavy heart.

The two zoos in Suzhou and Changsha have maintained research and observation of their respective spotted turtles for decades, and have gained an in-depth understanding of their habits. Now, in order to preserve this precious species, the two places will cooperate to save the Chinese spotted turtle.

Only Spotted Turtle Found in Wild in Vietnam

(April 18, 2008)

Reuters HANOI, April 17 (Reuters) - Biologists have discovered a giant soft-shelled turtle, the spotted turtle (Rafetus?swinhoei), in northern Vietnam, the U.S. Metroparks Zoo in Cleveland said in a statement. The animal, which enjoys a unique place in Vietnamese culture, is thought to be extinct in the wild.

The zoo said Asian turtle experts finally found the spotted turtle in a lake west of Hanoi, Vietnam's capital, after a three-year search. It is the only known spotted turtle in the wild in the world.

"This is an incredibly stunning find, as the spotted turtle is one of the most endangered turtles in the world," Doug?Hendrie, Vietnam coordinator of the Asian Turtle Program at Cleveland's Metroparks Zoo, said in a statement Wednesday.

The zoo said scientists currently know of only four spotted turtles in the world. In addition to the one just discovered, two are in zoos in China and one is in Lake H? Chính in the center of Hanoi. The spotted turtle can weigh up to 136 kilograms, grow up to 0.9144 meters and live more than 100 years.

[edit]Saving the spotted turtle

A rescue program?

The best way to protect spotted turtles is to let them reproduce. The earliest plan was to pair a female spotted turtle from the Shanghai Zoo with a young spotted turtle from the Suzhou Zoo, but in December 2006, the spotted turtle from the Shanghai Zoo "passed away". Just after the city business newspaper reported the news, the public Pan Yubo exclusive to the newspaper disclosed: Xiyuan Temple originally had four or five? "Laichou soft-shelled turtle", are his clan ancestor, the late Qing Dynasty scholar? Pan Zuyin (1830-1890) released, two or three of which were eaten by the Japanese in the spring of 1938. If this information is corroborated, it is significant to the study of the age of the Saenji spotted turtle and whether it is still fertile.

To this end, the reporter deliberately went to the Suzhou Museum, check Pan Zuyin's diary. With the help of the staff, the reporter did find Pan Zuyin Qing dynasty Guangxu nine years (1883) soft-shelled turtle release records, and confirmed that at that time the release of a **** 6, more than the number of Pan Yubo memory.

In this case, if we can find the female spotted turtle "round" in the Xiyuan Temple, Suzhou Zoo spotted turtle guy also hope to breed with it. Unfortunately, "Yuan Yuan" has been hard to find, this idea is basically not operable.

Fortunately, in January 2007, an 80-year-old turtle from Changsha Zoo was recognized as a female spotted turtle, which is equivalent to a human's age of 20s, and it can still lay eggs continuously, which shows its strong fertility. In this way, Suzhou Zoo's spotted turtle guy has a real "dream girl.

How to make Changsha, Suzhou spotted turtle marriage, to save the spotted turtle family, the people concerned put forward two programs: Let Changsha Zoo spotted turtle girl? "far married" to Suzhou, or let the Suzhou Zoo spotted turtle guy "inverted door" to Changsha. But taking into account the spotted turtle to move around may affect the health of the Suzhou Zoo spotted turtle pool to be transformed, two unfamiliar spotted turtle put together may not get along with the situation, these ideas are not immediately put into facilities.

In June last year, Changsha Zoo put forward the idea of artificial insemination to solve the problem of spotted turtle breeding, WCS organization said it is willing to provide technical and related professional support.

In September last year, the Chinese Zoo held a conference in Jiamusi City, Heilongjiang Province. In September last year, at the 2007 working meeting of the China Zoo Association in Jiamusi City, Changsha Zoo, Suzhou Zoo and the WCS organization decided that, through artificial insemination, Suzhou Zoo's spotted turtle guy and Changsha Zoo's spotted turtle girl would breed their offspring and would try to do it in the spring of this year, and then change to letting the spotted turtles mate directly if they were unsuccessful.

After the news came out, some domestic experts questioned: can sperm be successfully collected from male spotted turtles using tiny electric vibrators? How much harm will it do to the male spotted turtle to extract sperm by artificial means? Since there is no precedent, no one can guarantee it now. The world's known live spotted turtle, the most suitable pair is the Suzhou Zoo spotted turtle guy and Changsha Zoo spotted turtle girl, in case one side of the body damage can do?

In the end, after careful study and expert verification, Changsha Zoo, Suzhou Zoo and WCS signed a technical contract in late December last year, deciding to try to let the spotted turtle mate directly first, and then try artificial insemination.

Then, in the end, let the Suzhou spotted turtle inverted door, or let the Changsha spotted turtle married door. The two sides are again some bargaining. In the end, the Changsha side gave in. This is because of the large size of the Suzhou spotted turtle? (about twice the size of the Changsha spotted turtle), and old, it is inconvenient to move; in addition, the Changsha Zoo spotted turtle into the second half of this year will be relocated to the Eco-zoo with other animals. The "marriage" to Suzhou is also to exercise its ability to adapt to the environment. The "marriage" to Suzhou is also to exercise its ability to adapt to the environment. Hunan Changsha Zoo spotted turtle "girl" wedding date is finally set. 2008 May 5, it will set sail to Suzhou will be "lover". Perhaps, by this time next year, this kind of animal is a hundred times more rare than the giant panda will be able to breed their offspring; perhaps, the fate of an endangered species will be changed from now on. Although Truong Sa is thousands of miles away, a reporter from the Business Newspaper, who has always been concerned about the fate of the spotted turtle, decided to go to Truong Sa to witness this historic moment, and at the same time "escort" the spotted turtle "girl" all the way to Truong Sa. Despite the news that a spotted turtle was recently found in Vietnam, its identity has not been finally confirmed. If you don't save it in time, this species of spotted turtle is likely to disappear completely from the earth.

Yan Xiahui, deputy director of the Changsha Zoo Management Office, said in an interview with reporters that according to the plan, experts from the WCS organization will make a final physical examination for the spotted turtle girl on May 4, and in the afternoon of the 5th, the spotted turtle girl will take a special car, which is expected to arrive in Suzhou on the morning of the 6th. "The reason why I chose the car, because if I use the airplane to consign, the temperature difference in the cargo hold is big, the spotted turtle girl may not be able to eat; choose such a time to use the car to transport, but also in order to make the temperature change a little smaller, to reduce the impact on the spotted turtle girl."?

The spotted turtle's new house?

The date of the Changsha spotted turtle's "marriage" to Suzhou is getting closer and closer, and Suzhou Zoo is stepping up preparations for the "wedding room". Spotted turtle pond remodeling work is nearing completion, the end of April can be completed. Suzhou Zoo in the existing two ponds, the east of an area of 900 square meters, the male spotted turtle has been living here. The west side of an area of 400 square meters, previously unused for a long time, spotted turtle artificial breeding project started, Suzhou Zoo began to transform it into a spotted turtle "wedding room". Renovation work began on April 8 this year, yesterday afternoon, the reporter saw in Suzhou Zoo, workers are busy in the west pond, the south bank of the pond, an artificial island constructed of stone has been basically shaped; the bottom of the pond in the center of a concrete wall, separating the entire pond into two parts of the same area. The design of the renovation project by the Suzhou Garden Design Institute of Yuan Wentao is responsible for, Yuan Wentao told reporters that the pond after the transformation will form a "two rooms, one hall, one bathroom" pattern - the pond will be divided into two, respectively, for the "groom" and "bride"! "and" bride "living in the middle will be separated by an iron fence, only when they" cave flowers and candles "when the iron fence will be removed, the zoo staff said that the spotted turtle ferocious nature, very easy to attack each other, so do not wait for the The staff of the zoo said that the turtles are ferocious in nature and are very prone to attack each other. The artificial island is equivalent to a "living room", which will be paved with pebbles and sand for the turtles to sunbathe on the shore. Similarly, the artificial island will be separated into two parts, and a ramp to the bottom of the pool will be constructed respectively. In the center of the artificial island, a small pool will be built, according to the introduction, this is for the turtles to take a bath after coming ashore, equivalent to a "bathroom". Yuan Wentao introduced, the west side of the pond after the transformation, will be followed by the transformation of the east side of the pond. After the transformation of this pond, the function is more comprehensive than the western pond, in addition to daily life for the turtles, but also in the south shore of the pond deliberately built a "leisure area", the environment of this area will be completely simulated around the Taihu Lake mudflat wetlands, so that the turtles living in the zoo feel the nature of the intimate. At present, the culvert communicating between the two ponds has been repaired. The reporter learned that the two ponds all transformed, accommodating the spotted turtle "couple" living more than enough, even if they are full of children and grandchildren in the future, there will be no overcrowding of the situation.

The water quality of the pond is a major problem that has long plagued the survival of the spotted turtle. Last year, after the death of the spotted turtle "Fangfang" in Xiyuan Temple, a reporter went to the zoo to visit and found that the surface of the turtle pond was filled with cyanobacteria. It is reported that the water in the pond is almost completely isolated from the outside water system, and has become a pool of stagnant water. Spotted turtle "wedding room" after the completion of this problem will be completely resolved, according to Yuan Wentao, will specialize in the construction of two waterways to the turtle pool and the zoo outside the Changhebin connected, the moat will be through the water in the Changhebin directly into the turtle pool.

Recently, many people visited the zoo to see the turtle "wedding room". Zoo staff said that the male spotted turtle seems to know that he will become a "groomer", the last few days have been very active, often surfacing, happy to swim around.

The turtle is only three in the world? Two Suzhou marriage

(2008-05-08?09:54:15)

On the morning of May 6, the Changsha spotted turtle "girl", who bears the responsibility of species continuation, finally arrived at the Suzhou Zoo after a long distance of 1,100 kilometers, and took the lead in living in the "new room", and the bridegroom, who is the first to live in the "new room". The bridegroom is a spotted turtle from Suzhou.

The spotted turtle is an ancient species with a history of 270 million years, and has been extinct in the wild since the 1960s. There are now only three surviving spotted turtles in the world, and one in Vietnam.

The new bride, the Suzhou spotted turtle "boy" in the other pond looked excited, poking his head out of the water from time to time to look around, or simply reveal his huge body and play with small fish. The "bride" is a bit more shy.

Their "bridal chamber" is a pond of about 400 square meters, divided into two equal parts by an isolation net, the south is an artificial island paved with fine sand, which will be their breeding place. When the trapdoor in the net is opened, the "couple" will be able to get close to each other. Many Suzhou citizens and tourists waiting in the turtle pool early in the morning, looking forward to a glimpse of the "bride" appearance.

According to reports, although the three spotted turtles have entered the old age, but properly fed can live two or three hundred years. If the two spotted turtle breeding success, will be the last hope to protect the spotted turtle.
