Basic consumption level of life in Dubai
Salary:
Let's talk about salary first. In fact, it is meaningless to talk about salary in Dubai. Wages in this city vary greatly, from high to low. Different levels, different industries, and even different bosses may all be factors that push the salary difference. Even if your salary is high, you will find that others may be higher; Even if you get a small salary, you will find someone more embarrassed than you.
However, the place in Dubai is that no matter how high your salary is, as long as you pursue the quality of life, you can spend quickly; No matter how low your salary is, as long as you work hard, you can survive and have a surplus; Generally speaking, according to the standard of China people working in China company (including visa, the same below), the average salary range of accommodation and food is:1500 ~ 4000 DHS; Congratulations, you saved the biggest expense! (exchange rate between DHS and RMB) The average salary excluding accommodation ranges from 2500 DHS to 5000 DHS; Congratulations, you can live more freely! )
Another common salary model is "basic salary+commission". The basic salary is generally around 1000 ~ 3000, but there is often a higher proportion of commission and bonus. Congratulations, you are likely to get a very high salary in one month! If your salary is higher than the average, then I can say that your welfare is already very good, at least it can make you comfortable; If your salary is below average, then your boss may be a little stingy, but this does not prevent you from surviving in Dubai.
Accommodation:
I don't think anyone will deny that the biggest part of Dubai's expenditure is rent. Generally, people who work like us don't live in a single room alone. Basically, we all rent beds or rent a single room with a few friends. (If friends staying in hotels can skip this section)
Generally speaking, a normal bed rent, the average monthly range is: a standard bed per person (10~20 people), including water and electricity = about 700 DHS; There are also some people who eat, and the general rent is around 850 DHS; Some small families (2~5 people live), including water and electricity = about 850 DHS; There are also some single rooms, excluding water and electricity = about 2500 ~ 4000 DHS (prices vary greatly in different regions and regions). In addition, generally speaking, the cost of water and electricity will be shared to about 50~80 DHS per person per month.
Catering:
In any case, buying food and cooking by yourself is the most cost-effective and economical way. The general normal standard is about 300~500 DHS per month. There is no vegetable market (except fish market) in Dubai, and basically all dishes can be bought in supermarkets and grocery stores, and the price is not very high. If you are not used to foreigners' rice, you can buy China rice in China supermarket. At the same time, supermarkets in China also offer all kinds of vegetables and meat (except pork) that people in China often eat, but the prices are generally slightly higher than those in foreign supermarkets. The statement that food is more expensive than meat in Dubai before I came here is actually incorrect. Basically, meat of the same grade is more expensive than vegetables (excluding high-grade fruits and vegetables). If you don't have cooking skills, you can eat out, of course, the cost will be much higher. For example, in the small restaurant above the shoe city, the average person eats about 20 DHS, and the average person eats noodles about 12 DHS. If you are used to eating Indian and Pakistani food, you can eat beef/chicken curry rice in Indian and Pakistani restaurants around 8 DHS (this should be regarded as the cheapest dinner in Dubai); In addition, a set meal such as McDonald's and KFC is basically around 20DHS; Or friends who want to save money can just eat all kinds of cakes and meat rolls here, one cake 1DHS and meat rolls 4DHS, but they are not full. If you are a little stronger and can live on instant noodles, then the price of each package of instant noodles is around 2.5DHS. In addition, of course, you have to eat out from time to time. Generally speaking, the per capita consumption of a normal meal in a restaurant in China is about 40~ 100 DHS.
Travel:
The transportation system in Dubai is not very good. Although the subway has started to operate now, it is of little significance to China people who are not familiar with the roads. Basically, China people travel mainly by taxis and China black cars.
Taxis in Dubai: Taxis in Dubai start at 3~3.5 DHS (I don't know why it often changes). Although the starting price is low, the jumping speed is fast, so it is not cheap. The basic 10 minute drive takes about 10+DHS, and there is still no traffic jam; When you take a taxi in Dubai, you'd better give the driver just the right change. Sometimes the driver will think that the extra part you give him is a tip, not your change. At the same time, please note that taxis crossing the UAE and departing from the airport will generally charge an extra 20DHS on the basis of the original fare.
China Black Car: The so-called black car is a driver who carries passengers without a business license or even a local driver's license. Many people in China who have poor English will go out and look for a black car driver directly. The charge is generally one bite, which may be slightly higher than that of a taxi, but it is reasonable. It's a good deal in traffic jams! )
Public transport system: in addition, the bus fare is generally 2DHS at a time, and it may take 5 ~ 20 DHS to cross the UAE in the distance; If you are a ferryman at the ferry, it is usually1DHS; See the subway guide written before for details of subway fees;
Daily expenses:
Daily expenses are telephone bills, daily necessities, friends' communication, snacks and other daily miscellaneous expenses. Basically, one principle can be applied, that is, things that sell 1 RMB in China are sold here, so I won't go into details. There is a one-way charge for making mobile phones in Dubai. Dialing is 0.3DHS per minute, and each message is 0.3DHS, and answering is free.
