Jian 'ou No.1 Middle School, formerly known as Jianxi Academy, was founded in the 25th year of Qing Emperor Kangxi (1686). 1906 was restructured into "Jianjun Middle School" of Minbei No.1 Middle School. 1949 merged with Jian 'ou County Middle School to form Jian 'ou People's Middle School in Fujian Province; 1952 merged with private Peihanzhong Middle School to form Fujian Jian 'ou Middle School; 1956 was named Jian 'ou No.1 Middle School in Fujian Province.
"Jianjun Middle School" has been renamed and moved to eight places for a hundred years since its establishment. It has served as the president of 3/kloc-0 and graduated nearly 50,000 students.
