1in early 1993, Zhang Xiaohong, who joined the army in 13, returned to his hometown of Chengdu from the army. At that time, it was the time when the business atmosphere in the sea prevailed, so Zhang Xiaohong encouraged his wife Zhu Hongyan, "Should we do something?" After many calculations, in March of that year, the couple finally rented a shop with only tens of square meters in a department store in Wenjiang, opened a grocery store, and borrowed 1400 yuan from their parents as the start-up capital. Because the business competition was not fierce at that time, this small grocery store quickly flourished in the local area. In less than a year, they paid back the money they owed their parents and gradually began to choose a new location to open a shop.
However, after the grocery store opened for two or three months, the problem came: every day, the couple were busy buying goods, settling accounts, selling things and other big and small things, and sometimes they even felt a little overwhelmed. Zhang Xiaohong, who was worried about his wife, began to think about the solution. Finally, one day, Zhang Xiaohong said to Zhu Hongyan, "Wife, I don't want you to be so tired anymore. I hope to put a price tag on the goods in our shop. You just need to put a stool at the door to collect money. " This idea is not surprising now, but it is still a new thing when the supermarket format in the mainland has not developed. Zhang Xiaohong did as he said, and then he came up with a clever plan to build a warehouse to distribute the goods, thus greatly shortening the replenishment time of the goods.
1994 in may, the first supermarket belonging to the couple was finally going to open. What should we name the supermarket? Zhang Xiaohong thought for a long time and said to his wife, "Wife, let's name it after you. This not only shows my love for you, but also reminds all customers that you are the founder of the company. How nice to kill two birds with one stone. " So Zhang Xiaohong opened the first "Hongyan Supermarket" named after his wife in Wenjiang. Zhu Hongyan said that he chose this name because he hoped that his supermarket would always face customers with a bright and beautiful mood.
Zhu Hongyan vividly called the expansion of supermarket chains in Zhang Zhilu in the next decade "the countryside surrounding the city". Indeed, in recent years, Hongyan supermarket has mainly developed in the surrounding areas outside the Third Ring Road in Chengdu and some secondary cities in Sichuan. Zhu Hongyan and Zhang Xiaohong have always thought that the time to open a shop in Chengdu is not yet ripe.
In August 2002, the couple registered Hongyan Supermarket as Chengdu Hongyan Supermarket Co., Ltd., with Zhang Xiaohong as the president and Zhu Hongyan as the general manager. At present, the company has a commodity distribution center covering an area of10.5 million square meters, and has built a six-story Hongyan supermarket headquarters complex and a computer network system for management and sales. This company has more than 200 stores, and the couple have run the business very successfully.
March into Tibet and build a museum hotel
After 10 years of stable development in Sichuan, in 2004, Zhang Xiaohong and his wife began to think about new breakthroughs. At the beginning of this year, Zhang Xiaohong, a former soldier, set foot on this magical land of Tibet with longing for the snowy plateau. Through in-depth understanding of the local area, Zhang Xiaohong soon conceived a bold idea-to open a shop in Tibet. In May of that year, a large modern Hongyan supermarket was stationed in Lhasa.
In the following days, with a better understanding of the city, Zhang Xiaohong began to think about new ideas. When they first went to Lhasa to open a supermarket, the couple did not expect that the Qinghai-Tibet Railway would be opened to traffic in July 2006. However, as the opening date of the Qinghai-Tibet Railway approaches, Zhang Xiaohong thinks that this railway will definitely make Tibet's tourism prosper, so it will be a good choice to open a hotel. So, Zhang Xiaohong and a friend began to learn about hotels in Lhasa one by one, and even found an amazing result-there was no five-star hotel in Lhasa at that time.
The direction has been determined, but what kind of hotel to build is once again puzzling Zhang Xiaohong. So Zhang Xiaohong spent another month in the local investigation. Finally, Zhang Xiaohong positioned the hotel as a museum-style hotel: no matter the appearance of the hotel or every corridor and hall in the hotel, it is a museum. Zhang Xiaohong believes that if the hotel is turned into a museum, the museum into a shopping center, and the trinity is combined, the characteristics of the hotel will come out.
The idea is beautiful, but such a big investment will cost at least 200 million yuan. Zhang Xiaohong wondered whether he could get his wife's support.
One day, Zhang Xiaohong said to his wife very uneasily, "Wife, my investment this time is very risky. Will you blame me if it collapses? " Zhu Hongyan once hesitated that so much money should be spent on this project. Both husband and wife are in their forties, and their son is in his twenties. It is better to have a stable life than anything at present. But in the end she replied: "Experience is more important than making money. I support you to realize your dream, even if you fail. So, the couple borrowed 30 million from the bank and tens of millions from relatives and friends. Together with their savings for many years, they finally collected more than 654.38 billion yuan, and on June 28, 2006, they opened the first local museum-style ultra-luxury hotel with the theme of Tibetan culture in the famous Yangcheng Square in Lhasa. Covering an area of 30,000 square meters, the hotel has a golden hall in the snowy area, 186 luxurious rooms with unique style, a historical corridor with great ornamental value, an exhibition hall for Tibetan weapons and many other facilities, which make visitors feel refreshed. It is reported that after the opening of the Qinghai-Tibet Railway, the business of the hotel has been very good, the occupancy rate of hotel rooms has reached 90%, and the sales of exhibits in various museum-style exhibition halls are comparable to the turnover of hotel catering and accommodation-Zhang Xiaohong and his wife have succeeded in this adventure.
