A Dream of Red Mansions was born in the middle of the 8th century. It is a model of the collision, absorption and integration of Manchu-Chinese culture and North-South culture, and a true historical picture of aristocratic life in China in the late Ming and early Qing dynasties. It is in this monumental work, which stands proudly in the world literature and is known as the "encyclopedia" of China feudal society, that Cao Xueqin used nearly one-third of the space to describe the colorful food and cultural activities of many characters.
