BOCOG continues to promote the construction of environmental management system, and permeates the concept of green Olympics into all aspects of Olympic preparations with scientific management mode.
1. Environmental policy
On April 7th, 2004, Liu Qi, Chairman of BOCOG, issued the environmental guide of BOCOG's environmental management system:

2. Establish a system
According to the environmental policy, BOCOG compiled the BOCOG Environmental Management System Manual, identified the management representative of the environmental management system, defined the environmental responsibilities of each department, trained the environmental liaison officers of each department, organized and completed the initial environmental review of each department, and determined the initial environmental factors of each department, which laid the foundation for running the system and passing the audit in the future.
In 2004, BOCOG held a seminar to compile environmental protection standard documents for reconstruction and expansion projects, put forward environmental protection requirements for some events, urged some projects to complete environmental impact assessment reports, and actively promoted the green construction of Olympic projects.

On February 29th, BOCOG held a seminar on sustainable development of Olympic projects. 2. Guide to environmental protection
In 2004, BOCOG compiled the Environmental Protection Guide for Olympic Reconstruction and Expansion Project and the Environmental Protection Guide for Olympic Temporary Construction Project, which were respectively included in the relevant Olympic engineering design outline.
Olympic venues and temporary buildings should meet the requirements of these two environmental guidelines in the process of project planning, design and construction.
3. Green construction management
In 2004, BOCOG, Beijing 2008 Project Construction Headquarters and Olympic project construction units made joint efforts to promote green construction. The national stadium and other venues that have started construction have formulated implementation rules, established environmental management systems and formulated management plans according to the Guide to Green Construction of Olympic Projects and combined with the actual work, and achieved positive results.
According to the environmental management policy of "creating a green construction site, building a green project and realizing a green Olympics", the National Stadium has incorporated environmental management into project supervision.
On March 8, 2004, the first batch of hotels providing accommodation services for members of the Olympic family, sponsors, media and other registered personnel signed the Olympic Accommodation and Reception Service Agreement with BOCOG. As one of the annexes to the agreement, the Guide to Environmental Protection of Hotel Services for Beijing Olympic Games puts forward strict requirements for environmental protection of contracted hotels.
In 2004, BOCOG Games Service Department and Environmental Activities Department carried out a series of environmental protection activities, which played a certain exemplary role in the hotel industry.
1. Guide training
In order to make the managers of the contracted hotels fully understand the Guide to Environmental Protection of Hotel Services for Beijing Olympic Games, and show the concept of green Olympics in the accommodation reception of the Olympic Games, BOCOG made a comprehensive introduction to the guide.
In addition, in order to adapt to the energy-saving renovation of the hotel, BOCOG specially invited energy experts and wall energy-saving experts to introduce the energy-saving part of the guide and advanced energy-saving technologies at home and abroad to the contracted hotel engineers.
2. Energy conservation initiatives
During the National Energy Conservation Publicity Week, BOCOG called on the contracted hotels to respond to the initiatives of seven ministries and commissions, including the National Development and Reform Commission: on the premise of not affecting human comfort, air conditioners should be raised by 1 degree in summer and lowered by 1 degree in winter. The 23 hotels signed at that time responded positively, setting an example for the hotel industry.
On the official winter heating day in Beijing, BOCOG presented nearly 80 hotels with "energy saving publicity cards" made by the Global Village Environmental and Cultural Center. The energy-saving billboard will enter the guest room to promote energy-saving knowledge to the guests.

3. Green lighting project
Cooperate with Beijing Development and Reform Commission's "Green Lighting Project" to encourage contracted hotels to choose energy-saving lamps and replace incandescent lamps. Some contracted hotels have purchased more than 20,000 pieces of high-efficiency lighting source products, including electricity saver 10.
In 2004, BOCOG set up a publicity group, compiled publicity materials, filmed promotional videos, opened online channels and carried out a number of thematic activities.
