The use of caustic soda
1, ordinary soap is the sodium salt of higher fatty acids, which is generally made by saponifying oil with a little excessive caustic soda.
2, printing and dyeing, textile industry, to use a lot of lye to remove the grease on cotton yarn, wool, etc. Caustic soda is also needed to produce man-made fibers.
3. Soda soda should also be used in refined oil. In order to remove gum from petroleum fractions, concentrated sulfuric acid is usually added to petroleum fractions to turn gum into acid residue precipitation. The acid-washed petroleum still contains acidic impurities such as phenol, naphthenic acid and redundant sulfuric acid. It must be washed with caustic soda solution and then washed with water to get refined petroleum products.
