In order to further improve the service work of migrant workers and understand the needs of migrant workers working and living in Beijing, the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) Beijing Surveyor General Team has conducted a citywide survey to monitor the dynamics of the process of migrant workers' civilization.
The 2020 monitoring data shows that new generation of migrant workers accounted for 50.1%, with men accounting for more than women. The proportion of men among the new generation of migrant workers is 66.3%, 4.6 percentage points higher than the previous year; the proportion of men is 32.5 percentage points higher than that of women, 9.1 percentage points higher than the previous year.
Employment is concentrated in labor-intensive industries, and the proportion of new-generation migrant workers engaged in information transmission, software and information technology services has risen sharply. in 2020, the top five industries in terms of employment were, in order of priority, residential services, repair and other services, manufacturing, construction, wholesale and retail trade, and accommodation and catering,*** absorbing 67.2% of the new-generation migrant workers.

1, "Post-90s" Migrant Workers Engaged in Slightly Different Industries
"Post-90s" migrant workers have slightly different preferences, and the seven industries with the largest number of employed workers are, in order: manufacturing, construction, residential services, repair and other services, information transmission, software and information technology services, accommodation and catering, cultural and recreational services, and wholesale and retail trade.
The two industries with the biggest gap with the new generation of migrant workers are information transmission, software and information technology services, and wholesale and retail trade. 11.6% of them are engaged in information transmission, software and information technology services, which is 3.7 percentage points higher than that of the new generation of migrant workers, while 5.8% of them are engaged in wholesale and retail trade, which is 6.3 percentage points lower than that of the new generation of migrant workers.
2. "Post-90s" Migrant Workers Have Slightly Higher Income
In the survey sample, "post-90s" migrant workers have an average monthly income of 6,424 yuan, 210 yuan higher than the average of the new-generation migrant worker group. 210 yuan higher.
