Ok, I played Pingjiang Road in a petty bourgeoisie style.

Introduction

The west area of Pingjiang Road is the essence of Pingjiang culture. Use your legs to visit the real Suzhou culture with a history of 2,511 years, Dingjia Lane, the hometown of Prime Minister Ding Wei Song dynasty, the ancient "Shipo Bridge Lane", Pan Shien's old house, Pan Zuyin's former residence, Gujia Garden after the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom, the most famous building in the old days, and the cultural relics of Donghuaqiao Lane. There are also authentic Suzhou cuisines brought to you: double-skin milk, bubble wonton, wine-brewed dumplings, sugar porridge and so on.

There is no predetermined goal, only a predetermined point. The beauty of Suzhou's ancient city lies not in the goal. Enjoy this feeling of exploration and constant surprise. Walking through the streets and lanes, discovering unknown beauty, having no clear itinerary, and taking photos and discovering in disorder bring different surprises. We use our legs and lenses to explore the most authentic Suzhou, and it is our support to click on a compliment and forward it.

At the same time, we sincerely welcome you to join us. * * * We are exploring the journey of Wu culture and witnessed the changes of Suzhou over the years. We love photography, travel and hiking once a week, which is a real example!

dingjia lane

Dingjia Lane is the starting point of this trip, and it can be reached not far from Linton Road on Metro Line 1. In the Song Dynasty, because it was the hometown of Ding Wei Song dynasty, the prime minister during the Chunhua period (991-994), it was named Ding Jingong Lane and Ding Jingong Square. The puppies in Suzhou Alley are normal, and most of them are docile, and they look at us while frolicking.

There is a small restaurant in the alley, and all kinds of Soviet-style snacks are very abundant. A bowl of red bean dumplings sprinkled with sweet-scented osmanthus and freshly wrapped bubble wonton have solved our breakfast. There are many kinds of small shops, and the taste can only be said to be passing, so I won't recommend them here.

Wu Zhai, a controlled building, is located in the lane, and the east wall is its characteristic. The wall with rhombic pattern is made of two-color bricks. This building complex was built in the early Republic of China, and it was a western-style building influenced by western culture. The original owner was a big landlord named Wu. There is an iron gate locked at the door, and this characteristic brick wall can be seen from the outside.

Dingjia Lane is not long. Just a few hundred meters away, I came to the next alley. I happened to see my grandfather riding a bicycle with a sense of time. I especially like this alley where cars can't pass, and I can catch such a simple picture.

Jianxin Lane

Jianxin Lane was originally named Qingyuan Square, and the former residence of chemist Gu Yidong is in this lane. Gu Yidong has been a professor at Fudan University since 1952. He is an academician of China Academy of Sciences and the founder of tungsten chemistry research in China.

this well at the entrance of the lane is called "Rende Spring", but the original site is not here. When Ganjiang Road was rebuilt, the well circle was moved to the entrance of Jianxin Lane, which was dug by Linnan Commune in the 13th year of the Republic of China (1924). Up to now, the water quality is clear and used by the people.

There are green plants in front of the residents in the bridge lane, which makes the lane full of natural vitality. In the lane, there is Yizhuang, Dong Shi, a controlled building built in the Qing Dynasty. Yizhuang has many explanations. One explanation is that it refers to a specific place where unburied coffins are temporarily stored. Here, I hope the insiders can tell me the meaning of many righteous villages in Suzhou.

the eastern part of the lane is called "Shipo Bridge Lane", and the western part is called Dalangqiao Lane. Now the new lane is called "Sipo Bridge" in the east, and it is known as Pingjiang Road when you walk past Sipo Bridge.

Pingjiang Road is full of commercial atmosphere and uninterrupted flow of people, which is completely different from the alley dozens of meters away, showing the quiet in the middle of the alley.

The merchants on Pingjiang Road must have put enough effort into the flavor of Suzhou. Although they didn't want to introduce the merchants on their own initiative, I took these two photos, and many people will have seen the second one online.

Niujiaxiang

Warning: This section will be longer. Niujiaxiang was formerly known as Lanjiaxiang, and was called Bijia Lane in ancient times. Song Lan Shi Ji lived in this lane, hence the name. There is Liu Yutang, the former residence of Pan Shien, a university student, in the lane, which was once the pavilion of Chen Yucheng, king of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom. There are also Fengchiyuan ruins, Dong Shi Yizhuang, Zhenjue 'an, Chenzhai, Fangzhai and other historical sites.

I didn't expect that the first thing I saw was a dog pooping. Looking at my little expression of extreme injustice in the camera, I guess I was helpless to be watched.

Auntie who is peeling broad beans by the roadside, and talking about shooting people. Many friends are a little at a loss to shoot characters in the street. In fact, it is ok to chat with the people, talk about local culture and customs, and take a camera in person. The people in Suzhou are simple, hospitable and lovely. I have met them many times and will take the initiative to lead the way for you.

This puppy dog has a cage, and it is not fierce at all. Question 1 comes: Why did Aunt do this?

Most residents in the old buildings facing the street will put some stools on the roadside. Imagine the neighborhood chatting happily together. Is the process of the city gradually losing this feeling?

Spring turns to summer, and aunt cleaner can actually sweep out so many leaves that look like autumn.

It's the loquat season, and there are many loquat trees on the roadside full of fruits, but these are not very sweet, and I hope you don't pick them at will. The really delicious loquat in Suzhou is Dongshan Baiyu loquat.

Wang Zhai, an alley-controlled building, was built in the Qing Dynasty, where Ruan Yisan, a professor at Tongji University, once lived. The door says "Xinyi Li". Like most controlled buildings, most of them are rented, so it is difficult to explore the original architectural pattern. However, if you go in through these alleys, you will find something else.

This place is suspected to have been abandoned for a long time. The dilapidated corridor has proper lighting, and the large row of meter boxes at the door are also sealed.

The wall of the building is covered with Parthenocissus tricuspidata, covering almost the whole house.

We probably found the only family still living in this alley. The house is small, with a courtyard in front, and it is very exquisitely managed. When the host saw us, he was very surprised that someone would come here and talk to us for a long time. This is a planned demolition place, and everyone around him has moved away. It is estimated that the owner will move away soon. In fact, from my point of view, I really don't want such a delicate and original old house to be demolished.

There is another well not far from the courtyard. It seems that the well ring is newly built, and the wellhead is covered with weeds. When popularity fades, these histories will be lonely with it.

I saw an old house through the window grilles of the fence, and then I found an opportunity to go around and have a look.

this is a very good courtyard, but it is full of loneliness that has been abandoned for a long time, leaving only ancient vicissitudes and dilapidated walls. After we took a few photos, we were quickly persuaded by the security guard who didn't know where it came from, suggesting that it was already a dangerous house.
