Science: China Tourism Day
China Tourism Day is celebrated on May 19 every year and is not a legal holiday. The holiday originated on May 19th, 2001. In the name of Ninghai Xu Xiake Travel Club, Ninghai, Zhejiang Province, Ma Shaoqin proposed the establishment of 'China Tourism Day' to the society, suggesting that the opening day of Xu Xiake's Travels (May 19th) be named as China Tourism Day.
On March 30, 2011, the executive meeting of the State Council passed a resolution that since 2011, May 19th of each year will be 'China Tourism Day'.
