The office of the Joint Conference on the Promotion of Classification and Reduction of Domestic Waste in Shanghai has announced to the public the results of the 2020 Comprehensive Assessment of the Effectiveness of Classification of Domestic Waste in Shanghai. Jiading District was canceled the second half of the comprehensive assessment results due to the occurrence of major violations of domestic garbage management in the jurisdiction, thus losing the qualification for the 2020 annual domestic garbage classification demonstration area selection. In addition, Nanxiang Town, Gangyan Town and Zhaoxiang Town were also canceled the second half of the evaluation results due to the occurrence of major violations of domestic garbage management in their jurisdictions, of which Nanxiang Town lost the qualification for the selection of the 2020 annual domestic garbage demonstration streets and towns, while Gangyan and Zhaoxiang Towns were canceled the title of the domestic garbage classification demonstration street and town.

In 2020, the assessment team evaluated 220 participating streets and towns in the city on the classification of household garbage according to the Shanghai Municipal Regulations on the Management of Household Garbage and related assessment methods. Nanxiang Township, Gangyan Township and Zhaoxiang Township were canceled from the second half of the assessment due to major violations of domestic waste management in their jurisdictions.

Among them, Hongkong Town and Zhaoxiang Town were the first batch of demonstration streets for domestic garbage classification in Shanghai, and according to the "Evaluation Methods", the two towns were canceled as demonstration streets for domestic garbage classification due to the occurrence of major irregularities, while Nanxiang Town was disqualified from participating in the evaluation of demonstration streets for domestic garbage classification. The remaining 217 streets and towns of domestic waste classification effectiveness assessment have all reached ? Excellent standard. Among them, Xianxia Xincun Street, Xincun Township, Shuyuan Township and other second half of the comprehensive assessment of garbage classification results among the top.

In the 16 districts, Jiading District, due to the jurisdiction of the occurrence of major violations of domestic waste management was canceled in the second half of the comprehensive assessment results, according to the "assessment methods", lost the qualification for the selection of living garbage classification demonstration area. Other districts of domestic garbage classification effectiveness of the comprehensive assessment have reached ? Excellent standard. Comprehensive assessment results of all districts for the whole year, except for Jiading District, all other districts are determined to be the 2020 annual living garbage classification demonstration district. Among them, Yangpu District, Changning District, Hongkou District, three districts of the comprehensive assessment of the annual average score of the top. However, the difference between the first-ranked district and the last-ranked district is less than 3 points, indicating that all districts are more effective in the management of domestic waste.
