Requirements for being a qualified hotel waiter:
1. Excellent patience
The occupation of a hotel waiter is a service occupation, and what this occupation needs most is not how beautiful you are, but excellent patience. The guests who spend in the hotel belong to the third and sixth classes, and there will be guests of any character and conduct. If you are jealous and disgusted in the face of the guest's chatter and have no patience, how can you be called a qualified and excellent waiter? Remember, patience is the most basic requirement as a hotel waiter.
2. Have a good adaptability
As we said, the guests who spend money in the hotel belong to all kinds of people, and when they spend money in the hotel, there will be many unexpected things, such as a polite guest who becomes unreasonable because of drinking too much, or makes some strange demands. What should you do at this time? Patience is necessary, but also the ability to deal with emergencies.
3. Absolute neatness and appearance
The appearance of the hotel waiter we see will be neat, because the hotel waiter represents the image of the hotel. If we enter a hotel and see a sloppy waiter around us when ordering, do we still have an appetite to eat? If when we enter our room, a waiter comes in who exudes a new one, do you dare to stay in such a hotel?
4. Courtesy language is indispensable
Courtesy language of a hotel waiter is the most basic requirement. In order to be an excellent hotel waiter, you must be familiar with and use it all the time. When talking to a guest, don't tell the guest what to do, don't talk to the guest gruffly, and don't face the guest with a condescending attitude. Those polite words, such as "you" and "please", must be on your lips.
5. Have an excellent memory
The job of a hotel waiter is actually very brain-consuming, not just serving dishes end to end as we see. You should write down the guest's order, as well as the guest's special requirements, such as whether it is slightly spicy or super spicy, etc., and remember the time when the guest told you to serve and the order of serving. For example, if you check in a hotel, you should remember the requirements of the guests, such as what time to remind the guests to get up, or to remind them to do something else, which requires the excellent memory of the hotel waiter.
6. Have a sense of active service
The nature of the hotel waiter's job is to serve the guests and meet their reasonable requirements, so don't feel that serving the guests is a shameful thing, or that serving the guests is a thing without dignity. You should not only meet the reasonable requirements of the guests, but also learn to observe more, and give your enthusiastic help to things that are not mentioned by the guests but need help in time. 7. Be diligent and don't be lazy
If you want to be an excellent waiter in a hotel, you must be diligent and do your job better, and you can do a little more without affecting your job. Don't wait for the leader to tell you what to do before you do it, even if you procrastinate, don't do it if you can, and be lazy if you can. No one will like a waiter like that.
8. Be familiar with hotel-related affairs
This includes many things. For example, when guests check into the hotel, they will casually call a waiter to ask about some nearby situations, such as where the nearest subway stations are, or which way to go to an airport is the shortest, or what are the characteristics of your hotel. As an excellent hotel employee, you must have a general understanding of these problems. Don't ask the guests all kinds of questions, and they can't say anything except ordering food and serving plates.
