I started by working for others myself. If you are a recent college graduate, you must first get a job in the catering industry if you want to open a restaurant. 81% of the managers in the catering industry start from working. Don't think that if you work for others, you will be inferior first. In fact, you really need this kind of exercise, and you can also learn something very helpful for your career. I have two suggestions:
First, if your family can give you greater financial support, you can consider joining a more mature restaurant chain, so that your headquarters will help you in store location, decoration, food positioning, procurement channels, cost management and so on.
second, if you have to cook your own food now, it is more popular to make specialty restaurants. The characteristics can be divided into many aspects. From the cuisine, Shandong cuisine, Guangdong cuisine, Sichuan cuisine and western food can all become characteristics. The specialty restaurants in the north make more Cantonese cuisine, and they value the customers who are curious about regional food differences and local complex. From the perspective of consumer groups and functions, it can cater to friends' gatherings, couples' dating, family gatherings, and cultural features. A good store name and good decoration style are all features. When it comes to what is the key to making the most money, it must be comprehensively considered in combination with the consumption level of your place and the location of the restaurant. Generally speaking, a restaurant with its own restaurant culture, signature dishes and consumer groups, plus good management, will certainly make money.
