How do cohabiting couples save money? Together, we'll see how our quality of life stacks up!
Hello everyone, this time I'm going to share with you something that makes me feel quite accomplished myself - how my girlfriend and I saved a ton of money without downgrading our quality of life while living together! Our quality of life has even improved in the process, and I'm sure this experience will give you some insight as well.
In the beginning, we were the kind of people who had no control over our lives, felt that money was just for smashing, and then started to suffer at the end of every month. But now, we have learned to consume wisely, really have money and quality to enjoy, this time I will give you a popularization of our "Money Saving Tips".
First of all, our dietary expenses have been greatly optimized.Previously we used to take out and eat out, and we could spend four or five thousand a month. Now we choose to cook for ourselves.
And we have discovered the joy of cooking for ourselves, we can adjust our tastes and make some special treats such as handmade pizzas and sushi, which satisfies our taste buds and hones our culinary skills, so it's really a two-for-one deal.
Then, we also made changes in entertainment consumption. We used to go to places like movie theaters, KTVs, and amusement parks, but now we prefer to choose free or low-cost entertainment.
For example, we go for a walk in the park, check out a new book from the library, or schedule a movie night at home, where we lie on a comfortable couch and watch a movie, and we can eat a snack we made ourselves while we watch it, which is really enjoyable.
Next, we made adjustments to our shopping habits. Now we started shopping more sensibly. We would make a shopping list and then stick to buying only the items on the list. Also, we would compare prices, see if we had a coupon, or wait until it was on sale.
We've even developed a "shopping rule": if something can't be worth more than a month's worth of our savings, we won't consider buying it. This way, we can avoid impulse shopping and still ensure our quality of life. We also try to buy things that are of good quality, and although we may spend more money at first, we can save more in the long run.
Most importantly, we've started to pay more attention to asset management. We set a goal to save a certain percentage of our paycheck each month. And, we started learning about investing.
We chose to invest in more conservative ways, such as fixed deposits and buying funds, so that we could ensure the safety of our money and at the same time get some returns.
And we also regularly check our finances to see if our savings and investments are meeting our goals. In this way, we not only build wealth but also improve our financial management skills.
In addition to this, we also try to find resources that we can ****enjoy, such as when we ****enjoy a video account instead of everyone buying one.
This not only saves some money, but also increases our chances of watching movies together and bonding.
At the same time, we try to find ways to increase our income while looking for ways to save money. For example, we do part-time jobs in our spare time or sell items we no longer need. This way we can not only increase our income, but also make our lives more simple.
We set a budget every month and try to spend according to it.This way we can better control our spending and avoid overspending.
We regularly read some financial books or articles to learn some financial knowledge. This way we can not only improve our financial management skills, but also give us a deeper understanding of money.
These are some of our experiences on how to lower our spending while improving our quality of life after cohabitation. It may be different for everyone, but I'm sure you can do it if you have the determination and perseverance. Moreover, I found that in the process, we not only saved money, our quality of life also improved.
Finally, I would like to say that saving money doesn't mean you have to live a miserable life, instead, it may make your life more colorful. Because, when you start spending wisely and start focusing on the quality of life, you will realize that, as it turns out, life can be so beautiful.
