3. Yuzhou Junguan Kiln Site Museum

Introduction

Junguan Kiln Site Museum is located in the north section of East Ring Road, Yuzhou City, Xuchang City, Henan Province. The museum has a total construction area of 6,111 square meters, located in the Museum of Junguan Kiln. The architectural form is a Song-like cement structure building complex. The gatehouse is painted from south to north for the Song-like double-arched double-eaved carved beams, and the east wing is painted inward for the left and right nine-bay open columns with corridors, with a width of 16 meters and a three-room marble screen wall, a middle hall, left and right wing rooms, an east-west hall and an east-west courtyard. There are museum showroom, Jun porcelain boutique showroom, Jun porcelain art showroom, Jun porcelain exhibition hall, traditional Jun art operation exhibition, expert studio and youth ceramic education center. Jun kilns began in the Tang Dynasty and flourished in the Song Dynasty. In the Jin and Yuan Dynasties, a huge Jun kiln system was formed in the north, which affected all the kilns in Henan Province and the remaining Jun kilns in Hebei, Shanxi and Inner Mongolia. In the Huizong period of the Northern Song Dynasty, the court monopolized them as official kilns, and the production cost was spared.
