Lingyin Temple was built in the first year of Xianhe in the Eastern Jin Dynasty (AD 326) and has a history of about 1,711 years. It is the earliest famous temple in Hangzhou and one of the top ten ancient temples of Zen Buddhism in China. Located at the foot of Lingyin Mountain, west of West Lake in Hangzhou, with north peak as its back and Feilai Peak as its face, the two peaks are surrounded by beautiful trees and ancient temples in the mountains.
