How to use "ego, id and superego" in psychology?
Psychoanalysis theory has a very important content, which is the composition of personality.

Freud believed that personality consists of three systems: id, ego and superego.

Id is the component of human being as an animal, ego is the psychological component of human being, and superego is the social component of personality.

The three systems are not separated, but a structure that struggles and coordinates with each other.

(1) Id: refers to the instinctive me, which is characterized by animal brutality, and is an instinctive consciousness in human nature, with a dark side, just like many people understand the dark side of human nature. Id refers to this floor.

The id follows the principle of enjoyment, and everything is mainly to satisfy the subject's desire, and often acts blindly regardless of the consequences.

And most of the time it is unconscious, which is difficult for us to detect.

For example, in life, a tramp felt hungry after several days without eating. When he saw a pancake stall on the roadside, he went to grab it, because he had to abide by the natural law centered on his own survival guarantee.

⑵ superego: it is the advanced consciousness of discipline in the social civilization environment. It is the sublimation and advanced on the basis of the id, with morality and conscience, which is the opposite of the id.

The superego mainly focuses on the quality of behavior, good and evil, and tells us what kind of person we want to be.

It often conflicts with the id, and the principle of happiness of the id always violates the moral norms and ideal goals of the superego.

Still in that example, if a tramp refrains from hunger and does not rob for his conscience, he is observing his self-consciousness. The superego in his body is stronger than the id. Tell him to be a man with conscience at all times.

⑶ Self: contact with external consciousness, be responsible for handling daily affairs and follow the principle of reality.

It is the regulator of the conflict between id and superego, and also the manager who makes decisions.

When I was a child, I saw angels and demons in the hearts of characters in cartoons.

The ego should consider both the needs of the id and the rules of the superego.

Simply put:

I'm instinctive. I'm looking for pleasure for myself.

Self is the subject center and management adjustment.

Superego is to restrain vicious and lofty ideals.

If we can consciously apply these three in our life, we can effectively analyze ourselves and clearly observe our current inner state.

Just like I was forced to stay at home and can't go to work recently because of the epidemic, the boring life at home day after day in the past month made me feel bored, wasted time and lacked income, which made me very anxious and empty. At this time, I can only read books and write articles to avoid meaningless killing time.

However, my mood is inevitably negative because of this situation, and reading and writing is a painful thing. Under this state of mind, I am even more reluctant to act. I just want to watch videos and play games to try to escape these troubles, but I am extremely unwilling to go on like this. The concept that time is money is deeply rooted in my heart.

But my ego is more inclined to superego, which makes me still suppress my laziness and hedonism, and still insist on self-improvement every day. This is the role of insight into my state after using the three correctly.
