The golden cicada is an insect. Its larvae live underground for several to more than ten years, and then break out of the ground and become adults. Although human catching the golden cicada may affect its population, its larvae live underground for a long time, which gives them enough time to reproduce and survive. In addition, golden cicadas have other natural enemies, such as birds and spiders, which will also help control the number of golden cicadas to maintain ecological balance.
However, although the golden cicada is unlikely to be completely extinct because of human capture, we should still respect and protect the natural environment. Humans should reasonably capture and utilize biological resources to maintain ecological balance and protect biodiversity.
