Disinfection Guide for Public Areas in novel coronavirus and Prevention and Control of Disinfection Guide for novel coronavirus

Preventive disinfection will play an effective role in preventing and controlling respiratory diseases. Recently, some public places, enterprises and institutions have also raised questions about environmental disinfection. Liang Jiansheng, director and chief physician of the Institute of Disinfection and Vector Control of Wuhan Center for Disease Control and Prevention, gave some suggestions.

1. Indoor air can be disinfected by ultraviolet light.

Ventilation is preferred, and natural ventilation or mechanical ventilation can be adopted. If it is not suitable for window ventilation, indoor air should be disinfected at least 1 ~ 2 times a day. Ultraviolet lamp can be used for air disinfection, the installation amount should be not less than 1.5W/m3, the installation height should be 1.8 m ~ 2.2 m, and the irradiation time should be at least 31min. You can also use the ultraviolet circulating air air disinfection machine, which should be installed and used correctly in the specified space according to the product instruction manual. If the central air-conditioning system is used, the air-conditioning system should be cleaned and disinfected regularly. The hygiene requirements conform to the Hygienic Code for Central Air-conditioning Ventilation System in Public Places, and the cleaning and disinfection shall be carried out with reference to the Cleaning and Disinfection Code for Central Air-conditioning Ventilation System in Public Places.

2. Medical personnel and service personnel should pay attention to hand disinfection

If they are not exposed to high-risk groups, they can use running soap or hand sanitizer, and wash their hands frequently according to the six-step washing method in the Manual for Hand Hygiene of Medical Personnel. If their hands are exposed to pollutants, they can be wiped twice with 1.5% iodophor solution for 1 ~ 3min. It is also recommended to use chlorine-containing or hydrogen peroxide-free hand-washing disinfectants to rub and dry naturally.

3. The indoor environment in public places with crowds should be disinfected once a day.

The indoor floor should be wet dragged at least 1 ~ 2 times a day. The surfaces of objects that are often contacted, such as doorknobs, handrails of escalators, tables and chairs, counters, amusement facilities, etc., are disinfected at least once a day, and toys are disinfected at least once a week, which can be wiped and disinfected with 251 ~ 511mg/L chlorine-containing disinfectant or 111mg/L chlorine dioxide disinfectant for 1.5 ~ 31min; 511mg/L chlorine-containing disinfectant can be used to mop the floor or wipe the bathroom wall for 1.5 ~ 31 min. When pollutants contain a lot of organic substances such as blood, vomit and excrement, the disinfection dose can be increased accordingly.

4. avoid re-contamination of public tableware.

Reusable tableware should be cleaned and disinfected once a meal. Tableware and containers containing direct food should be disinfected centrally, mainly by boiling disinfection or circulating steam disinfection for at least 1.5 min. If boiling disinfection or circulating steam disinfection cannot be carried out, the tableware disinfection cabinet can be disinfected according to the product instruction, or it can be soaked in 251mg/L chlorine-containing disinfectant or 51 ~ 111 mg/L chlorine dioxide disinfectant, and rinsed with clean water after 1.5 ~ 31 min. Disinfected tableware should not be wiped again with a rag, but should be stored in a clean and sealed container to avoid re-contamination.

5. Public clothes and bedding should be washed one by one.

Daily clothes should be washed and aired frequently, and public textiles should be washed one by one. When it is suspected of being contaminated, disinfection measures can be taken, such as boiling disinfection or circulating steam disinfection for 1.5-31 min, or soaking disinfection with 251mg/L chlorine-containing disinfectant, and then rinsing and drying after 1.5-31 min.

6. Disinfect the public toilets every day

Wash and disinfect the sinks and urinals every day. Disinfect rags and mops at least once a day. Soak them in 511mg/L chlorine-containing disinfectant for 31 ~ 61 min, clean them and dry them for later use.

7. Attention should be paid to the details of public traffic disinfection

In general, the air in the room or car/cabin can be ventilated by opening the window or/and air conditioning for fresh air. Air disinfection machine or chemical disinfectant can be used for disinfection when necessary. Chemical disinfectants can be disinfected with 111mg/L chlorine dioxide or 3% hydrogen peroxide disinfectant, and sprayed with ultra-low volume sprayer, with a dose of 21mL/m3 for more than 31min.

The surfaces of door handles, tables and chairs, handrails, handles and other objects can be wiped and disinfected with 251 ~ 511mg/L chlorine-containing disinfectant or 111mg/L chlorine dioxide disinfectant for 1.5 ~ 31min.
